Professional Experience

2006 – Present Office Manager, Activity Director, Marketing Director, Fairhaven Assisted Living Residence

Performed general office duties and responsibilities associated with providing support to a facility that employed 25 plus personnel and

housed 55 plus residents. Duties included: basic office accounting, purchase card management and reconciliation, personnel files,

reconciling expense reports, coordinating staff training, maintaining databases, newsletter development, and maintenance of confidential

records. Complied data and prepared multiple monthly reports and inventories for facility owner. Used a desktop computer to update and

maintain records, draft memorandums, and publish all company correspondence. Ordered all office and activity supplies. Utilized Microsoft

Publisher to produce a monthly newsletter. Was responsible for monitoring and updating content on company website. Maintained

Administrator’s schedule. In the absence of Administrator, resolved employee related problems, to include, but not limited to: scheduling

conflicts, internal staff relations, and resource management. Served as liaison for the facility to the general public. Conducted facility tours

and interviews with prospective residents and their families. Coordinated advertising with local radio and newspaper outlets. Represented

Brigade Family Readiness Coordinator, 48th Brigade Combat Team, Georgia Army National Guard

2004 – 2006

Coordinated all activities associated with assisting families of deployed soldiers. This included preparing families for the deployment,

organizing fund raising activities, advocacy events, and general meetings. Assisted military personnel with casualty assistance duties and

assisted the families with travel arrangements to various care facilities throughout the continental United States and Europe. Conducted

weekly telephone and video conferences with family readiness groups from 7 states and 1 territory (29 combat companys). Served as the

public affairs representative for the Family Readiness Program both at the local and national level. Provided weekly briefings to

Commanding General of Brigade and State Guard Commander on status of families at home and planned activities for families and soldiers.

Coordinated the welcome home ceremonies for numerous units. Assisted 28 families with funeral arrangements and provided support to

Gold Star families. Represented the families and 4,500 plus soldiers of the Brigade at numerous functions throughout the state.

2002 – 2004 Administrative Assistant (part-time), Left Bank Art Gallery, St. Simons Island, Georgia

Organized the owner’s daily schedule, personal appointments and special activities. Coordinated appointments and handled telephone

contacts and written correspondence for the gallery. Designed and produced invitations and other marketing materials for the owner and

coordinated guest list for gallery events and personal social functions for the owner. Worked closely with the 2004 Sea Island G8 Summit

organizers to coordinate special events for the gallery. Worked on additional special projects as requested. Contacted various travel agencies

to coordinate gallery owner’s worldwide travel itinerary.

2002 – 2004 Southeast Georgia Area Manager, American Diabetes Association, Brunswick, Georgia

Coordinated fund raising program for the Southeast Georgia chapter, raising in excess of $102,000.00. Provided support and education for

people in the community with diabetes. Planned special activities and programs for families affected by diabetes to include the 2003 Glynn

County and Camden County “Walk for Diabetes” involving a combined 1,000 plus participants. Presented programs on diabetes to a variety

of groups in the community. Recruited and supervised activities of volunteer staff in a multi-county area. Utilized computer daily to

maintain spreadsheets, to develop Power Point presentations, track donations and write correspondence.

1997 – 2002 After -School Program and Summer Camp Coordinator, St. Simons United Methodist Church, St. Simons Island,

Georgia

Recognized by the state of Georgia for a problem-free day care facility. Received 100% compliance on state licensing inspections for two

years. Managed a $50,000+ per year program. Handled personnel management, payroll, logistics and purchasing for the program.

Established and maintained files. Supervised 25 plus employees on a daily basis. Planned and implemented curriculum and special

activities for upwards of 75 school-aged children. Planned and carried out numerous field trips to a variety of locations.

• Have assisted the Chamber of Commerce in organizing no less than 4 major events for local military personnel.

• Have worked as transcriptionist and proofreader. Type 75 words a minute.

• Recognized as 2001 State Volunteer of the Year for the Georgia National Guard; recipient of the Infantry Association Shield of

Sparta; awarded the Georgia Commendation Medal (2006 and 2010); recipient of The Oglethorpe Distinguished Service Medal in
