Conclusion

I have been part of the IT industry for a long time and I understand the majority of the IT principles

as well as the Consulting and Development methodologies and lifecycles, including Object

Oriented Design and modeling using UML and Business Process Engineering tools (Intalio

BPMS). I also have very strong project management skills and although I have had no official

Project Management training I have been fortunate to learn from the best. I have the ability to

quickly adapt in changing environments and am a fast learner.

Career Background

My career in the IT industry started in January 1991. The first five years I was involved in the

design, implementation and support of hardware and software systems for a large Tertiary

Education Institution. These systems comprised of stand-alone personal computers to server –

client computers in a networked environment. My software and Operating System experience

during this time includes Windows NT, Unix (Sun Solaris), Novell Netware and most of the

Microsoft products.

Since then I have been involved in high- and low-level systems analysis, design / modeling,

architecture, development, implementation and support of software systems using certified and

approved project methodologies. These systems range from Helpdesks and Call-centers to Asset

management, Business-workflow and integration between systems. The nature of my work also

requires of me to have a good working knowledge of Relational Databases as well as a variety of

operating systems and programming/scripting languages and I have been mainly exposed at

some level with most of the BMC product suite.

I have extensive experience in designing and coding custom systems. My main job function

entails the total system development life cycle, starting with extensive Joint Application

Development (JAD) sessions to determine the client’s requirements. Using the information

gathered during the JAD sessions to design and propose solutions, draw up specification

documentation and either developing the solution myself or overseeing the development

according to the specification. I either assist, or oversee in the roll out of the solution and also train

users to the specific workflow and operation of the solution, as well as System Administration and

the user interface. My other job functions include faultfinding, performance tuning and

customization to existing systems.

I am an avid supporter of technology and always strive to keep abreast with the latest

developments. During the last few years I have expanded my technical and programming abilities

to include Java, XML, SOAP, and other web-application related technologies. I have had the

opportunity to implement several web based applications and understand the differences between

static or dynamic web content against a web based application.

I have been utilized extensively for designing and implementing integration solutions using a wide

spectrum of technologies of which I prefer web services as an internationally accepted standard.

I have also managed the infrastructure and team of six developers and administrators for a large

outsourcing company.
