Recruitment – Set up job fairs for employees. As EEOC Officer maintained all recruitment
records, i.e. applicant flow, resumes, I-9’s, hiring percentages of all applicants. Oversaw job
applicant screening; coordinated applicant testing and pre-employment drug screens. New
Employee Orientation – a six-hour orientation to review company rules and regulations;
enrollment in health care; plant tours; introduce employees to upper management and appropriate
supervisor. Created and presented extensive new employee orientation that was adopted for
companywide implementation.
Collective Bargaining Agreements: Implemented agreement between company and union,
reviewed, logged and investigated grievances, met with union officials, assisted in writing new
bargaining agreement.
Employee Relations: Developed and trained employees on staff hand book. Developed and
implemented Incentive Award Programs; established and administered service award program;
negotiated reduction in health care costs. Trained management staff on employment law,
regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures. Administer FMLA leaves,
unemployment, workers’ compensation, and disability claims. Reduced unemployment claims
by 30% through proper documentation of employee performance issues. Mediate conflicts and
provide advice to management about diverse HR issues including turnover, morale, and
compensation.
Evaluations: Created job descriptions for salaried and hourly employees; developed
employee evaluation system; administered employee evaluation program; established pay
ranges; conducted salary surveys; developed employee handbook.

Risk Management: Screened industrial-medical clinics for compliance of pre-employment
drug tests; clinic’s ability to handle severe injuries and doctors philosophy of returning
employees back to work as soon as employee is healthy. Responsible for maintenance of all
industrial injury files; follow-up with clinics, doctors, and employees, all O.S.H.A. records.
Responsible for accident investigation with safety committee. Reviewed job description with
vocational rehabilitation consultant for appropriate return to work plan. Toured plant monthly
for safety violations, reported findings to senior management. Developed and implemented
disaster plan, coordinated with local authorities.
Safety: Safety Committee administrator; OSHA compliance; investigated all industrial
injuries for company compliance of work methods. Monthly safety tour of facility, noted all
discrepancies in report to General Manager. Developed a Lock-out/Tag-out manual for all
power equipment; trained necessary employees on the procedure; annually reviewed training.
Developed and implemented Blood Borne Pathogens programs; Confined Space programs;
Vendor Safety programs. Monitored annual Hearing Protection program, inspect areas of high
decibel ratings, recommend sound reduction material; recommended employees for transfer to
different department if needed, or for hearing aids. Developed and implemented Hazardous
Material Communications Programs: inspection to prevent accidental exposure, dispose of
hazardous and bio-hazardous materials; interact with purchasing agent and vendor for
appropriate M.S.D.S.’s; prepared training materials on M.S.D.S’s and personal protection.
