DEMOLITION TECH

. My duties consist of assisting my fellow co-workers with the removal

of old flooring, appliances, and drywall. I safely use hand tools to

remove old building materials, in order to prepare the space for

remodeling.

SUMMARY OF SKILLS

. Ability to recognize danger and take appropriate safety measures; wear

proper safety clothing and personal protective equipment.

. Perform carpentry-related math operations and measurements; calculate

square-foot and linear measurements; square corners using the

Pythagorean Theorem.

. Ability to identify the components of floor framing, wall framing,

types of roofs, roof framing systems, insulation, roofing materials,

siding, exterior finish systems and exterior trim components; identify

different types and sizes of doors, windows, drywall, forms and form

components.

. Ability to identify and use carpentry hand and power tools; identify

proper maintenance and storage of tools.

. Select and safely use ladders and scaffolding.

. Ability to identify sizes and types of framing lumber, lumber defects,

sheathing and trim molding.

. Ability to identify nail and screw types, masonry fasteners and other

construction fasteners.
