Title: Maintenance Technician
Duties, abilities, and responsibilities:
1. Primary responsibility is Preventive Maintenance. Preventive
Maintenance includes but is not limited to greasing machines, oiling
machinery, checking and replacing belts, checking anchor bolts,
checking and replacing hydraulic hoses, checking and replacing airline
hoses, cleaning and/or replacing filters, and checking and filling
fluid levels. I perform a general overview of machinery to prevent
problems. I log service records for machinery. This responsibility
accounts for approximately 50% of my work time.
2. Repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, shear, laser, wire cutter,
robotic, and Amada machines. Repair and maintain electrical and
pneumatic systems. Move and reset machines. Install electrical
wiring, air lines, and conduit for machines. Replace circuit boards.
Reset and replace PLCs. Repair and maintain Rowe line, packing line,
as well as paint booth and equipment. Perform general forklift repair
and maintenance as well as operate forklifts. I have a forklift
license.
3. Perform general building maintenance including heating and cooling
systems. General building maintenance also includes but is not
limited to minor roof repair, plumbing, electrical, demolition,
replacing light bulbs, repairing light fixtures, changing air system
filters, painting, moving furniture, and moving equipment. Perform
preventive maintenance on and keep service logs on all machines. .
Able to operate a tractor with a loader, as well as drive a truck
hauling a pull-along trailer. Can read schematics and repair
electronic equipment. Repair machines in a timely fashion to help
prevent production delays.
4. Work under OSHA guidelines and regulations. I practice Lock-Out/Tag-
Out procedures.
5. Have worked under LEAN Manufacturing standards, and am familiar with
ISO 9000 requirements.
6. Know how to operate a PC based computer.
