Summary

Machine Control Technician with two years of experience in construction,

surveying, and transit projects. In my two years working on the Dulles

Metro Corridor Project, I have been given positions of progressive

responsibility due to my ability to quickly familiarize myself with

systems, software, earth moving machine control, and processes necessary

to meet requirements in an accurate and efficient manner. Currently, I am

responsible for ensuring that machine control runs properly for daily

operations. I also address any machinery issues in order to minimize

downtime. I am skilled in the use of TSC2 for data collection, as well as

the programs Survey Controller and SCS900. I also have experience using

Trimble total stations, such as VX, S8, S6, and SPS930.

Machine Control Technician, Dulles Metro Corridor Project, April 2010 -

present (Supervisor, December 2010-present)

Responsible for performing equipment setup and service for a range of

machinery, including CAT Excavators, bulldozers, and motor graders. Able

to set motor grader using the Robotic instrument to grade within a

half-inch tolerance over a distance of one half-mile. Also perform

as-built of the graded area using GPS cross section field survey.

Works closely with machine operators to address technical issues and

perform service and troubleshooting for equipment in their possession;

specializes in addressing machine/operator issues in an accurate and

efficient manner. Extensive experience troubleshooting machines.

Proficient in a number of Survey Machine Control technical tasks,

including sensor calibration, Excavator GPS calibration, machine

measure-ups, Dozer Machine Control calibrations, and sensor/cable

replacement.

Utilize GPS equipment on a daily basis and have received one-on-one

instruction and training from the Trimble representatives on Trimble

surveying and machine control equipment.

Familiar with SCS 900 (data collector) and CB 430 (GCS- Equipment operator

control computer) software and GPS/UTS settings in a construction

environment.

Demonstrated advanced ability to use and fix machinery and executed the

repair of three excavators and one motor grader. Was assigned additional

responsibility of training a licensed surveyor in machine control

techniques.

Received one-on-one training from three Trimble Machine Control Reps. This

training includes software such as Trimble Business Center, Site Vision

Office, Vision Link, and many Troubleshooting methods.

Worked with data processing through two way communications.

Managed the Field Work and tasks of machine control/ survey work while in

this department.

Work closely with the Site Superintendent to ensure scheduling is met.

Aerial Survey Party Chief, Dulles Metro Corridor Project, October 2009 -

April 2010

Primary responsibilities included soldier pile/ SOE pile layout, pier

plumbing, and layout; additional responsibilities included as-builting,

working with pile caps, and laying out bearing bolts and bearing plates.

Responsible for running Control (approximately 50 percent of Control on

the Dulles Metro Corridor Project).

Helped provide training for new employees.

2009

Was initially hired as a Civil Survey Assistant on the Dulles Metro

Corridor Project to perform a variety of surveying activities, including

running control and level loops, laser scanning, and civil/aerial work.

Additional tasks included as-builting, laying out piles, storm and sewer,

abutments, and piers, and clearing limits.
