MASTERS THESIS
NJIT, August 2010- June 2011
Accomplish an innovative research in Bipedal Posture for Static Balanced Gait.
• Implemented and programmed Biped Robot using robotics and optimization toolbox in MATLAB.
• Found the center of mass of robot at each stages of static gait cycle.
• Optimized the center of mass to maintain the balance of the robot by a method that will allow the selection of
joint angles of the swing leg and constraints are given to the stance leg angles in order to mimic the human
gait closely.
• This method will generate stance leg angles that bring the robots center of mass over the center of the stance
foot that will provide static balance during swing phase and brings the center of mass between the feet while
both legs are on the ground thus maintaining the bipedal posture while executing the gait.
• Assuredly, this thesis examines the method of maintaining static balance of a biped robot mimicking human
gait closely.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
• Programmed Human Motion Tracking System using a webcam to acquire the human motion and tracked it
accordingly and found its position and center of axis of rotation using MATLAB.
• Analysis of Segmentation of Micro Calcifications in Mammograms using MATLAB.
• Designed Optocoupler Isolation Stage for Biological Signals and analyzed it using the EKG simulator.
• Drafted a Clinical Protocol and Regulatory Rationale for Class III Medical Device (Skin Graft) with inputs
from Preclinical, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality and Marketing Departments.
• Designed and assembled Ultrasonic Therapy Unit to provide incredible pain relief and for speeding the
healing process.
• Successfully planned work schedules, expenditures and designed Biomass Power Plant System.
