The Administrative Assistant (to the Dialysis Administrator) functions as a

liaison for the Dialysis Administrator by keeping abreast of all key issues

within the dialysis system; assists the Dialysis Administrator with

management functions including problem identification, planning, control,

and application; participates in and/or coordinates special projects within

the dialysis system; prepares and edits all administrative data for the

Dialysis Administrator and the Nephrologist.

1. Organize a daily work schedule effectively by assessing overall work

assignments and setting priorities. Answer phones in an efficient

manner.

2. Take minutes of Management and QA meetings or any other meetings as

determined by the Administrator. Keep an updated record of patient and

employee incidents to place in the QA Data each month for the meeting;

also keep an updated and organized folder for each employee who

attends the Management and QA meetings.

3. Keep all administrative data such as meeting minutes, reports,

contracts, etc. in an organized and up-to date manner.

4. Attend meetings as determined by the Administrator.

5. Compile and edit all administrative correspondence. Help develop new

forms for the Dialysis Units.

6. Facilitate inter- and intra-departmental communication with regard to

the overall operation of the dialysis system:

* Order unit supplies/forms to distribute as necessary

* Maintain records of physician and nurse practitioners licenses,

CME's, vacation

* Coordinate with affiliated hospitals to keep Nephrologist

staffed

7. Demonstrate knowledge of dialysis system and certain issues pertaining

to personnel, legal issues, and special projects.

8. Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA compliance issues for copying patient

charts.

9. Keep organized files for employee check stubs.

10. Organize and keep updated lab labels for all Dialysis Units.

11. Assist dialysis personnel with questions concerning policies,

procedures, insurance, payroll, accounts payable and clinic issues.

12. Compile information on Transient and Transfer patient requests to

submit to Administrator for approval.

13. Demonstrate knowledge of inventory control system, accounts payable

system and computer network within the dialysis system.

14. Work closely with the Dialysis Administrator, Assistant Administrator,

Clinical Director, Educational Coordinator, and unit supervisors in

editing and compiling policy and procedure manuals.

15. Assist with overall requirements for annual inspection by the State

Health Care Commission.
