MARINE CORPS HERITAGE FOUNDATION (MCHF) Dumfries, VA

• Assisted with planning and coordinated the Semper Fidelis Memorial Chapel Dedication by maintaining contact with

vendors, as well as program participants; maintained attendee lists and attended walk-throughs for program participants

• Planned, coordinated, and arranged transportation for: the reception, private dinner, tour of the local area, and VIP tour

of MCB Quantico, for a multi-million dollar donor who funded the construction of the Semper Fidelis Memorial

Chapel, and twenty of his guests

• Coordinated the 65th Anniversary of the Landing on Iwo Jima ceremony and banquet for over 600 Iwo Jima Veterans

and their families, Foundation VIPs, Congressmen, and High Ranking Military Officials.

Typical Duties:

• Maintain and establish contacts and develop relationships with the National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC),

fifteen Marine Corps installations and their tenant agencies, other governmental agencies including the U.S. Senate and

House of Representatives, and over thirty local and regional businesses and organizations that directly support the

MCHF

• Coordinate with dozens of vendors, specifically those that provide marketing and design, media/public relations,

catering, and special events services that promote the mission of the MCHF

• Participate in special event planning and production support for functions including, but not limited to the MCHF’s:

“An Evening with…” series, Community Outreach Reception, Capitol Hill Reception, Semper Fidelis Birthday

Luncheon, Semper Fidelis Memorial Pathways Dedication, the Annual Awards Dinner, and the 65 th and 66th

Anniversary Reunion of the Landing on Iwo Jima ceremony and banquet, and various events for Founders and Board

Members

• Provide “advanced parties” with detailed information and coordinate event walk-throughs to ensure smooth execution

of the events prior to the arrival of dignitaries, Foundation VIPs, Congressmen, General and Flag Officers, SES

employees, and their entourages

• Participate in meetings that focus on special events and strategic marketing plans to generate tourism and continually

improve public relations

• Assist the VP of Marketing with guest accountability and flawless execution during a minimum of five annual media

events

• Provide insight toward the development, editing, and proofing of: formal invitations, special event programs, MCHF

publications, media scripts, and other event related literature and documents

• Generate interest in the National Museum of the Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and

encourage participation in MCHF sponsored functions by coordinating, implementing, and promoting the Foundation

at external functions, expositions, and other donor cultivation events

• Offer design input for MCHF publications and mailings

• Manage the reproduction and distribution of marketing kits, maintain the inventory of all promotional items for the

Foundation, and distribute promotional materials in response to inquiries from donors and the greater public

• Maintain electronic and hard copy information files for every special event, as well as for media and marketing related

material

• Assist in scheduling briefings and meetings for VP of Marketing related to MCHF’s special events and marketing
