Responsible for administering over 400 servers and 1700 workstations. Fine-
tuning and troubleshooting the bank's aging infrastructure including 90
domain controllers in a multi-domain forest. Support and prepare the
environment for compliance and compatibility with current and future
infrastructure projects.
Key projects:
. Deployed the bank's first 2008 R2 domain controllers. This project
involved preparing the 3 domains for the necessary schema changes.
Corrected problems with DNS and replication on the 90 domain
controllers. Corrected any errors on each individual domain
controller that would prevent a successful 2008 DC deployment.
. Managed the bank's System Center Configuration Manager deployment.
Corrected configuration issues preventing the successful deployments
of Windows updates. Corrected countless client problems for
connectivity. Successfully deployed previously missed security
updates to all workstations company-wide and brought compliance to a
much higher level than previously.

Sr. Infrastructure Engineer
Responsible for the daily deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of
all company-wide systems. Responsible for the planning and execution of
enterprise level solutions ranging from application deployment to disaster
recovery. Charged with the virtualization of existing physical systems to
consolidate infrastructure at both the corporate and datacenter locations.
Maintain and guarantee high availability to meet operational standards and
Service Level Agreements. Plan and implement solutions according to
allocated budget and Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines. Audit systems for
vulnerabilities, proficiency and availability. Responsible for the
monitoring of all systems, network nodes and applications. Responsible for
the replication and high-availability of all company data. Trained staff on
the usage and best practices for the tools and technologies utilized
throughout the company.
Key projects:
. Deployed Windows 2008 R2 Failover Cluster composed of two nodes with
SAN attached storage and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 to prepare for
migration of current 2003 cluster services and databases. This serves
as the company's primary database server, housing 30+ databases in an
active-passive schema between both nodes.
. Deployed a Citrix XenApp 4.5 farm composed of 13 presentation
servers, 1 Data Collection/License server and 1 Secure Gateway/Web
Interface server. Installed and configured all applications. Farm
serves approximately 30 applications to over 500 employees. All
servers were deployed as VMware virtual machines.
. Setup a new Citrix XenApp 6 farm to be deployed simultaneously to and
replace the current 4.5 farm.
. Configure and manage a total of 3 vSphere Clusters and approximately
120 virtual servers.
. Migrated the company's previous VMware ESX 3.5 cluster composed of 2
SAN-attached ESX hosts to a new vSphere 4 Cluster with 3 new hosts,
retiring the old hosts from the cluster. This project required a live
migration of all VM's with zero downtime or interruption of service.
Configured vMotion for VMware High Availability and DRS.
. Deployed a new vSphere 4 cluster at the corporate location to house
servers that cannot be kept at the datacenter as well as migrate
existing physical servers to virtual machines. Subsequently migrated
all physical servers able to run virtually and eliminated
approximately half of the existing infrastructure.
. Deployed Solarwinds Orion Network and Application Performance Monitor
software configured to monitor all company infrastructure and
applications. Utilizing SNMP technology and email alerts, the
company's IT department is able to monitor all servers, network
devices and applications to guarantee a 99.9% uptime of all systems
and facilitate the prompt troubleshooting of any infrastructure
issues.
. Maintain the company's dual IBM DS4800 SAN setups. Including the
configuration of all arrays and logical disks. Provisioning of disks
to attached hosts or host groups. Configuration of 4 dual-zone fiber
switches connecting all hosts to the 2 DS4800. Configuration of both
Windows and ESX fiber-attached storage and multipath data access.
. Deployed the company's main file servers with Windows 2008 R2 at the
corporate location and in the datacenter. Configured file replication
across the company's MetroE from the corporate building to the
datacenter where the data is subsequently backed up using Symantec
Backup Exec and a Quantum Scalar i500 fiber-attached tape library.
. Deployed Symantec Backup Exec together with the Quantum Scalar i500
library as the backup solution for all data at the datacenter.
Configured 5 Symantec Media servers sharing the library to backup
file systems, databases, Exchange, VMware and physical servers.
. Deployed Websense Security Suite to monitor and control all internet
traffic throughout the agency. Created custom rules for each
department with different levels of security. Configured logging
according to the company's data retention policies.
. Deployed multiple OS X Servers with Open Directory to use in
conjunction with company's Active Directory to authenticate more than
200 Mac clients throughout the agency.
. Successfully extended the Active Directory Schema according to
Apple's specifications to support Mac OS clients natively. Configured
Mac OS managed settings to be saved directly into the AD objects thus
eliminating the need to keep Open Directory or OS X Servers. Also
minimizing infrastructure and simplifying management.
. Deployed new Windows 2008 R2 domain controllers to replace existing
Windows 2003 servers. Moved DHCP, RADIUS and Print services as
required. Moved Active Directory roles from old servers to new ones
as they were being retired.
. Configure and maintain the company's wireless network utilizing Cisco
4400 Series Wireless Lan Controller with 5 Cisco access points
located throughout the building. Maintaining 2 separate SSID for
corporate and guest access. Both networks kept isolated from each
other.
. Deployed Windows 2008 R2 Network Policy and Access Services with
RADIUS for authentication from the company's corporate wireless.
Configured access policies based on Active Directory group membership
and assigned client configurations accordingly. Configured traffic
across the corporate wireless to use 3 different VLans due to DHCP
and IPv4 limitations and firewall rules. Configured policies for
corporate VPN authentication.
. Maintain company's Cisco infrastructure. Configured new servers to
utilize network teaming with 802.3ad Fault Tolerance technology.
Configured Solarwinds Kiwi CatTools to monitor and backup all Cisco
devices configuration.
. Maintained company's Exchange 2007 deployment consisting of redundant
edge servers, reduntant hub servers and three SAN attached mailbox
servers. Responsible for troubleshooting, monitoring and upgrading
these systems.

1500+ new cloud-attached network devices and laptops throughout the
entire city and its service personnel including Police and Fire
Departments. Assisted in post roll-out support at their Helpdesk
location in City Hall.
. Deployed and maintained the Exchange, domain, file server and network
infrastructure of the City of Bal Harbor. Provided onsite high-level
support to City Hall employees when the remote call center was unable
to correct issues.
