Dear Sir/Madam
Re: QA Technician
I believe my background and experience closely matches your requirements and expectations for
the position of QA Technician.
I possess over 10 years of advanced environmental health and safety experience. I worked at the
Fernald site for over eight years as an Industrial Hygiene Technician and an Environmental
Scientist. During this time, I developed and provided training to site personnel at all levels on
environmental health and safety topics such as EHS orientation, blood-borne pathogens,
hazardous waste and emergency response, personal protective equipment, hazard
communication, confined spaces, hearing conservation and respiratory protection. I wrote
sampling procedures, completed OSHA training, CPR training, conducted noise surveys and
performed personnel and airborne sampling for airborne contaminants to include particulates and
VOC’s. I also calibrated all personal sampling pumps and instrumentation necessary to perform
any and all health and safety monitoring requirements.
In addition, as a National Institutes of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) subcontractor, I
researched and wrote Exposure Assessment Feasibility Studies detailing nuclear worker radiological and
hazardous waste exposure histories at the DOE’s Fernald, Mound and Rocky Flats nuclear facilities.
These studies were published by NIOSH and an example of one of these studies may be seen at –
http://www.osti.gov/energycitations/product.biblio.jsp?osti_id=305696
I believe I have the experience, skills and attitude to make a substantial contribution to SRI
Surgical Express. I look forward to an opportunity to discuss my past projects and experience at
an interview.
Yours sincerely,
Gentry Stevens
