PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES
. 40% Increase in throughput of a Continuous Anneal and Pickle line
through elimination of unnecessary intermediate anneals.
. Over 200 percent reduction in cycle time for evacuation of billet
system through
redesign of the system.
. 75% reduction in scrap rate of the largest volume cast iron valve from
changes
implemented as the result of DOE results.
. Elimination of process related brazing defects in copper assembly in
automated
brazing line.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
. Development of low coefficient of thermal expansion alloy for US
Patent 7663242.
. Development of electrolytic process for colorization of pewter tubing.
. Developed a refining process for removing lead from tin lead alloys -
Green Technology.
. Developed process for making rhenium plates directly from rhenium
perhennate.
