registration for this telecommunications Research and Development company.

Responsibilities included the formal training of 400 employees at four

separate sites in New Jersey and California, selection of Registrar,

formulation of audit schedules, audit reports, and audit analysis which led

to opportunities for improvement in both the quality of products (internal

/ supplier) and quality system, supported all functions with procedural and

process issues, conducted Customer Satisfaction Measurement Surveys and

data analysis.

This resulted in gaining corporate ISO 9001:2000 registration in 10 months.

Client list included Lucent, Celestica, Alcatel U.K. and France, Ciena,

Cisco, JDS/Epitax, Marconi and Tycom.

Designed procedures and forms (paper / electronic) used as controlled

documents and objective audit evidence. Presented data electronically to

second party (customer) auditors and senior management. Streamlined

procedures and processes which produced up to 25% cost reduction. Provided

senior management with GAP analysis of eventual quality or environmental

Managed all activities related to Quality leading to becoming successfully

registered to ISO 9001: 1994.

Reporting to the President/Chief Executive Officer, managed wide product

base in the manufacture of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) products through

the use of effective in-depth product knowledge, management, technology and

planning. Quality System development directed toward business and product

efficiency, reducing operational response time and improving time to

market. Recent successes include: the design, development and

implementation of automatic test equipment (ATE) utilizing remote record

keeping and Statistical Process Control schemes. This coupled with using

the team approach led to an increase in throughput of defect free product

from 60% to 99% and a reduction of test time of up to 80%.

Integrated the Quality Requirements for intrinsically safe products,

military (MIL-STDs) and commercial (ANSI/IPC) into the Corporate Quality

Policies and Procedures Manual. This enabled employees the use of one set

of practices, minimizing confusion and human error. This then became an all

encompassing Quality System and resulted in a Class "A" rating by one

product certifying body. The need for subsequent surveillance was curtailed

for 3 years as a result of this endeavor.

Reduced the amount of scrap by 20% through the use of streamlining

processes and employee training.

Other responsibilities included Design Reviews, chairman of the Management

Review Committee, chairman of the Material Review Board, member of the

Change Control Board, liaison between customer and company, generated

Policies, Procedures and Forms, review contracts for customer
