2011 to present
Regional Director of Education - HCR Manorcare
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, leading facilities through
the survey preparation and plan of correction process, participate in
marketing efforts, writing and presenting educational programs to educate
facility staff and families, promoting fiscal responsibility, participating
as a member of the regional team to facilitate facilities to function at
their fullest potential.
2009 to present
Self employed as a consultant to Long Term Care, providing consultation and
education on a wide variety of subjects pertinent to Long Term Care
organizations. I assist health care organizations in staff development,
preparation for survey, plan of corrections, quality assurance, and problem
solving. I have fifteen years experience as a registered nurse in the long
term care field and have served as a consultant to more than 200 facilities
during that time.
I also serve on speaker's bureaus for pharmaceutical products, programs,
and health care education. I have experience as a speaker at a national
level, presenting in many states as well as Washington DC.
I am currently on faculty at North Coast Medical Training Center's nursing
program.
1996 to 2009: Nursing Consultant - Omnicare Pharmacies
My position of thirteen years involved a wide variety of experiences and
opportunities. I was responsible to hundreds of customers who included
Administrators, Directors of Nursing and their staff nurses to keep them
current on all aspects of nursing duties and to address adherence to state
and federal regulations for Long Term Care. I presented, educated,
demonstrated and taught on a wide variety of nursing topics bringing hands
on practice opportunities and continuing education credits to nurses
throughout Ohio. I was responsible for implementing, applying, and
educating on all aspects of standard nursing practice to staff in the long
term care, assisted living and group home settings. This included a wide
range of topics from survey preparation, management skills, infusion
therapy, medication administration, nursing law, documentation, to nearly
all clinical aspects of the nursing care. I have also spoken to many
nursing and health care organizations as well as doing customer service and
quality assurance duties for this employer.
1978 - 1996
Prior employment was at Union Hospital for eighteen years, during this time
I worked in a variety of clinical positions which included experiences in
ICU, Psychiatric, Pediatric, Medical Surgical, and Home Health nursing.
This job provided me years of patient care experiences in many staff nurse
positions.
