Initially hired to manage day-to-day marketing communications projects that promoted increased ridership and improved the
relationship between Capital Metro and the community, including promotional campaigns, community events, and customer
care initiatives working with Public and Government Relations, Business and Community Development, and Capital Metro’s
advertising and public relations agencies.
• Managed traffic of all graphic requests and deliverables from advertising agencies, made key decisions on the assignment of
priorities within the graphics area.
• Print buying for all company needs. Work with printers and other suppliers to make sure needs are being met, on time.
• Led the graphics team, provided technical support and guidance, and monitored completion of assigned tasks.
• Acting as Production Manager at Capital Metro, developed specifications for print media using knowledge of printing
technologies to make decisions on paper type, binding, finishing, press types, lines screens, etc., developed IFB, RFQ, and
RFP specifications and documents for procurement of print media, coordinated and placed insertion orders for print.
• Served as project manager for semi-annual service change and print production of schedule books, pocket schedules, maps,

• Oversaw the implementation of Capital Metro brand parameters and participated in the overall branding of the company
ensuring that all material produced in consistent with the company’s image.
• Coordinated the production of advertising, passenger notices and legal notices as well as managed the Rider Info E-mails and
web site detour information. Developed a regular E-mail communication system for riders to have the latest information on
detours, delays and other factors of Capital Metro’s services. This system increased by more than 1,300 subscribers in a two
year period and received many rider compliments.
• Participated in the creation and management of the i-Ride marketing campaign. The i-Ride campaign called on riders to
promote the merits of public transport and revolved around rider-submitted testimonials through popular “new media”
products/advertising and social networking web sites that emphasized online collaboration and sharing among users. We
created a microsite and invited customers to “Tell Us Why They Ride” by submitting entries in Word, Song, Art or Video via
YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, Flickr and E-mail. This campaign increased ridership by an unprecedented 60 percent.
Associate Publisher, Texas Architect, Texas Society of Architects, 2001-2004
Managed all creative, sales, marketing, and administrative functions associated with two statewide periodicals and other
publications of a major professional organization. Responsible for budgetary and financial management of the publication including
production costs and advertising revenue, negotiating contracts with outside vendors and sales staff, and working with the U.S.
Postal Service to comply with publications postage regulations. Implemented promotional, marketing, and circulation strategies
that have resulted in the organization exceeding quarterly revenue targets by at least 25 percent in every instance.
• Planned and administered budgets totaling more than $500,000 for all printed publications.
• Managed the publication’s 15,000+ subscriber database in compliance with the postal service requirements.
• Coordinate sales of advertising statewide, supervising the work of the advertising and circulation staff.

• Additional responsibilities for the Texas Society of Architects included managing the Design Awards programs, managing
