Responsible for bi-monthly payroll for approximately 5500 employees. Daily payroll procedures includes but not limited to

submitting NACH file to the bank, paying federal tax deposits via EFTPS, checking/responding to the payroll department

email, phone messages, positive pay/ACH filing with banking institutions, direct employee contact regarding payroll and

benefit inquiries. Collaborates with the Human Resources department to ensure compliancy with the districts policy and

procedures with regards to payroll and benefits. Responsible for updating new and existing employee W-4’s, direct

deposit, garnishments and salary adjustments. Records and tracks extended leave of absences in compliance with district

and FMLA guidelines. Familiarity of internal and external audit request of payroll and payroll related information. Adheres

to and practices district policy and procedures.

2003 - 2008 Benefits/Payroll Clerk Benavides I.S.D. Benavides, TX

Responsible for the administration of benefits and payroll 250 district employees which include proper deductions from

employee wages such as garnishments, annuities, cafetería plan and profesional dues. Prepared budget options for

anual salary increases. Performed bank reconciliations, Worked with Excel spreadsheets creating Budget analysis.

Prepared W-2’s, 941 quarterly reports and TRS retirement reports. Processed insurance claims and unemployment

claims. Conducted bi-annual employee presentations for benefit enrollments.
