Environmental Consultant with the Contaminated Sites Division

Job Responsibilities:

Drafted health, safety and environmental plans for projects in accordance with State and Federal

regulatory requirements and client safety standards.

Analyzed and interpreted laboratory data to evaluate site conditions for planning and reporting purposes.

Managed multiple contaminated sites projects throughout the state of Alaska.

Drafted work plans and project reports for project managers in accordance with regulatory standards.

Conducted phase I and II site investigations to assess and delineate the extent of impact from petroleum

or chemical releases.

Conducted indoor air monitoring to assess vapor intrusion rates in business and residential structures to

evaluate the risks to human health.

Assisted and led cleanup efforts at RCRA and RCRA exempt contaminated sites in the Prudhoe Bay oil

fields, including: soil and surface water monitoring and overseeing excavation and backfill efforts

designed to return abandoned drilling sites to native tundra.

Notable Achievements:

1. Authored the Alaska Pollution Discharge Effluent System permit for a waste water treatment plant in

Cordova, AK in adherence to the EPA NPDES requirements.

2. Represented the State of Alaska during the Cruise Ship Observer program; monitoring waste handling,

treatment and disposal while the ships operated in Alaska waters during the summer of 2007.

3. Drafted the Health, Safety and Environmental plan for all OASIS field operations on the British

Petroleum lease property in the Prudhoe Bay oil fields for 2010.

4. Successfully managed numerous small to midsized monitoring projects for state government and private

industry clients. Effectively met all deadlines and completed projects under budget.

5. Led the environmental investigation effort for a US Army Corps of Engineers cleanup of a Formerly

Used Defense site in Unalakleet, AK during the summer of 2010.

6. Wrote the winning proposal for a $200K UST removal project in rural Alaska for the State’s

Contaminated Sites Division.

7. Coordinated and supervised personnel during multiple subsurface injections of an oxidizing agent into

diesel impacted soil to enhance microbial breakdown of contaminants.

* In January of 2011, I took a temporary leave of absence from OASIS to travel with my wife through Latin America

for six months. Upon completing our travels we decided not to return to Alaska, but to relocate to the Pacific

Northwest.
