Nicholas Ware is an attorney/executive who concentrates his practice on
commercial diplomacy, government relations, crisis management, public
relations, and policy. He has experience in foreign markets, primarily
Asia and Latin America, managing diverse teams and achieving consensus
through sensitive management of political realities while building harmony.
He accomplishes this by simple, continuous and direct communication
between parties whose interests may be diverse or in competition. He has

Mr. Ware has extensive government relations experience. He has been a

BUSINESS SOFTWARE ALLIANCE (Washington DC July 2005 to September 2006)
First Regional Director for Latin America for BSA.
. Served as Latin America Regional Director, lead industry attorney and
program manager with full P&L and hiring/firing authority for all
countries in the region, including Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and the
rest; built enforcement programs and business plans and managed
attorneys, investigators, PR managers, and staff.
. Increased ROI sufficiently through strategic changes and direct
management to place program into profitability for first time in its
17 year history. Designed, implemented and drove historic turnaround
of formerly unprofitable program in less than 12 months for Microsoft,
Adobe, Autodesk and other members.
. Directly managed all actions from origination through negotiated
settlements together with local counsel, driving revenue through
negotiation and other leverage to final conclusion of matter in "Last
Mile" methodology developed over previous decade in supervising
foreign IP assertion licensing operations.
. Designed and managed strategies and budgets through annual business
plans submitted and approved by members prior to activities for the
first time in BSA history.
. Served as Regional Spokesman for Software Industry, published press
statements and releases, managed public relations firms, and conducted
entire operation for Latin America.
. Organized, Convened, and Led regular regional meetings for all BSA
members and established historic cooperation among membership with
diverse interests.

and building collaboration with diverse BSA stakeholders, including

MACROMEDIA ASIA PACIFIC (Singapore January 2004 to July 2005)
First Regional Director for Asia Pacific Region.
. Designed, implemented and drove APAC anti-piracy program which
increased compliance revenue 22 fold.
. Accomplished this change through strategic leadership and
collaboration with stakeholders in under 18 months.
