Duties include:
. Certifications- Chemical analysis and test bar
evaluation of parts for customers.
. Monthly supplies- Order all supplies for lab,
nodularity, and Brinell station.
. Bad nodularity log- Log of bad nodularity by date,
customer, part number, cast weight, mold weight.,
total lbs. lost.
. Brinell log- Orders sent back to rework by part
number, customer, reason, date.
. Customer complaint log- customer complaints by
customer, part number, reason and action taken.
. Mold weighs.- Recheck of mold weights of parts for
yield evaluation.
. Pattern log- Patterns in house, patterns out, where
patterns went, reason shipped and return date of
patterns.
. Sample log- parts sampled because of problems, new
part, yield improvement.
. Sand system log- daily evaluation of molding sand for
moisture, compactibility, compression, MB clay and
bond addition.
. Assessments- quarterly review of plant process, taps
poured, customer complaints, rejected parts at the
Brinell station, and bad nodularity poured.
. Safety meetings- weekly meetings on safety topics to
prevent accidents.

entering of information on parts for use on process
sheets.
. Steel scrap- evaluation of in coming steel scrap for
appearance and chemical make up.
. Scrap evaluation- review of in house scrap for
defects and piece count.
. Furnace Log- pounds poured per furnace per day

( Spectrometer Operator- controlling of elements in
furnace and the addition of copper and nickel to meet
specs of some parts.
( Sand Test - testing of sand for compatibility,
compression, moisture, muller efficiency, MB clay,
available bond, and working bond.
( Turning, testing, and recording of test bars.
