-Covered Fenton, Fenton Twp, Argentine Twp, Tyrone Twp, Holly and Linden

for The Flint Journal. Beats included school board, city council, police

and fire and many news and feature stories. Was also responsible for

photography, video, posting stories to the Web and other multimedia facets

in the paper's shift to an online platform. Also served as a regular

contributor to the mlive.com blog "It's Just Sports."

KPC MEDIA GROUP

Kendallville, IN ( January 2008-September 2008

-Covered high school sports for KPC Media Group, located in northeastern

Indiana. Contributed regularly to the company's three daily papers. Duties

included traveling, stat-tracking, writing on deadline, pagination and

photography. Also assisted in covering local news. Promoted to Assistant

Sports Editor in June 2008 from a general assignment reporting position.

MACKINAC ISLAND TOWN CRIER

Mackinac Island, MI ( May-August 2007

-Produced 4-7 bylines per week as an intern for the weekly paper on

Mackinac Island.

WLAJ TV, ABC 53

Lansing, MI ( May-August 2006

-Traveled to and covered Detroit Tigers games, Detroit Lions training camp

and mini camps, and Detroit Red Wings playoff games as an intern while

writing for an Internet website and news station.

-Served two semesters as Sports Editor. Duties included overseeing a desk

of five to seven writers, editing stories and creating pages on a daily
