WORK HISTORY
December 2006 – June 2011 Mail Clerk,Receiver,Picker Packer
I was hired as the Receiver for Edgar Cayce Association for Research and
Enlightenment where I received all items coming in to sale for the company
and entered them via computer in database.As the company downsized I
was asked to take on the Mail Clerk postion where I processed all outgoing
mail and shipments dealing with United Parcel Service and United States
Postal Service.Soon after that after more downsizing I also took on the
postion of Picker Packer where I picked and packed all orders for outgoing
shipments therefore taking on three postions.
February 2006-September 2006: Maintenance
General maintenance and upkeep of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral
March 2003 - February 2006 General Service Assistant
I was mailroom operator dealing with all incoming and outgoing and delivery of mail involving
United Postal Service,United Parcel Service,Fed-Ex,and DHL. I used worldship 8.0 for outgoing
U.P.S.I also dealt with problem solving and upkeep of mailing machines,printers,faxes,copiers
and ordered all supplies dealing with these.I also ordered office supplies such as
letterhead,envelopes,labels and such.In any downtime i was also involved in maintaining the
building such as general maintenance and reporting major problems to building owners.
September 2002 - December 2002: Forklift Operator-Kelly Services
I was a certified forklift operator working with a temporary service at Hudd Distribution
Services,Inc. loading and unloading trucks for Target and Wal-Mart which also involves staging
units in designated areas of the warehouse and pulling from the areas as well.Also i was
involved in inventory counts.
2001-2002 Lead Repair Technician - Rug Doctor, Inc.
I supervised day to day repair of rug cleaning machines also being involved in repair myself.
Other requirements of my job were warehouse and shop inventory where I had to keep reports
of inventory and also was responsible for reordering of supplies needed for warehouse and shop
in which I reported to the district office as needed. I was responsible for seeing that the
machines needed for repair got to me and that involved communicating with the representatives
that service the stores while they were on the road. I was responsible for overseeing products
being pulled when the reps came to fill their trucks. I unloaded and loaded trucks using a
forklift. I was also responsible for daily upkeep of warehouse and shifting products for use as
needed.
1999-2001 Sanation Manager - Producers Peanut Company
My duties included general upkeep and supervision of employees at a peanut butter processing
plant. Also assisted production supervisor in maintaining production equipment. I assisted in
quality control and assisted office personnel when needed.
1995-1999 Machine Operator-Penn Engineering
Operated a multi spindle screw machine which produced fasteners for computer
chipboards.Also did preventive maintenance on the machine.
1988-1995 Manufacturing - Union Camp Corporation
Worked in the manufacturing of particleboard. My duties included forklift operation and
heavy equipment operator which included front end loader and dump truck. I also worked in
the shipping department. I was a certified mobile equipment operator and elected to assistant
team leader.
1986-1988 Warehouse and Assembler -Brown-Jordan Rattan
Worked in incoming raw materials department where I unloaded and stocked the materials
used for the production of rattan furniture using a forklift and cherry picker. Worked in
preparation, rework and shipping department.
1979-1986 Maintenance - Nansemond Convalescent Center
Performed maintenance on a 127 room nuirsing home. My duties involved minor electrical,
plumbing, air conditioning and refrigeration, building maintenance and upkeep of necessties
needed by the patients. In summer I also supervised the ground workers. Was a department
head when temporary help was needed in the maintenance department.
