Re: HEAD COACH OF MEN'S SOCCER - Massachusetts Institute of Technology

To Whom it may concern,

My name is Darren Pitfield and I am very interested in your opening for Head Coach of Men’s

Soccer. I learned about this opportunity after reading the job posting on the Higheredjobs.com

website. I have included my resume and reference list for your review.

I decided to go into the field of physical education and coaching because I wanted to make a

difference in the lives of students as an educator and a role model. Being a former YTS

professional player in England and current professional coach, I have high-level of experience,

skills and passion for the sport that I am able to pass on to the players and coaches I work with.

I believe that my strong academic background (including a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in

related fields) coupled with my abilities and track record as a Head Coach (at the regional and

national level) and Director of Coaching experience make me an excellent candidate for the

position offered. I have also numerous years working in fast paced software development

environments in a variety of positions detailed in my resume and would comfortably meet any of

the computer skills required. I also attended as a student a very selective university and an ROTC

military school with strict entrance qualifications and have a good understanding into the nature

of these institutions.

As a Director of Coaching for two Soccer Clubs, self published author, educational website

owner, Camp Director, I am well accustomed to dealing with budgets, administration, teams of

coaches/admin personnel, travel schedules, recruiting, website administration, etc.

I would welcome the opportunity to meet with the selection committee in person or attend an

interview. Please review my information and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any

questions or need additional information about my qualifications and experiences. Thank you for

your time and consideration.

Attached you will find my resume, which details my experience and qualifications.

Sincerely,

Darren Pitfield
