Senior Systems Engineer II December 2008 -Present
Primarily responsible for architecting, implementing and managing the VMware vSphere internal
cloud infrastructure that supports both internal use applications as well as a vast customer-facing
web presence. The entire environment is 90% virtualized.
The vSphere implementation for which I am responsible has achieved greater than a 13:1
consolidation ratio while still ensuring high availability.
• 33 vSphere 4.1 ESXi Enterprise Plus hosts making up an environment of 850 GHz of
processing power, 4TB of memory capacity and over 100TB of VMFS and NFS Storage.
• 450+ guests running a combination of Windows, RHEL, and CentOS.
• Supports 60+ VLANs utilizing Virtual Distributed Switching (vDS)
During my tenure as the Virtualization team lead, I upgraded our environment through several
versions of VMware Hypervisors, VI3.x, vSphere 4.x along with a multitude of other successes.
• Migrated large Physical Microsoft SQL databases to virtual machines on vSphere 4.1
saving $350k+ in Windows and MSSQL licensing costs each year.
• Migrated numerous MSSQL Database servers with 64GB+ RAM including Instances
with 128+ GB of RAM and 8 vCPUs (Limit in vSphere 4.1)
• Migrated hundreds of web, middleware, and mail servers to the virtual environment
I am required by LPS to attend yearly security courses on information security relating to SOX,
GLBA and FCRA to ensure my knowledge of these Acts is fresh and up to date as LPS is held to
the same standards as a financial institution.
Senior Systems Engineer I October 2007 – December 2008

• Migrated the entire platform from a datacenter in Chicago, IL to our datacenter in Olathe,
KS under a tight budget and tighter timeline saving the company $50k month in hosting
costs.
• Instrumental in migrating the MSSQL database servers to new hardware and to a 64bit
platform using a 4 node Windows Cluster vs a 6 node cluster saving $90k + a year in
licensing and hardware costs.
