To whom it may concern,
In my career, I have focused on the development of innovative
electrical, electro-mechanical and servo control hardware, software and
system integration for product development and manufacturing processes. I
have leadership expertise driving high tech projects from research into
development and manufacturing through technical evaluation, project
management, Design for Six Sigma, hiring, mentoring and personnel
realignment. I have always held positions of leadership in large and
small companies where complex systems were developed on short cycles,
delivered on time, with high quality and met cost targets. I have led
teams from ground up development through replicate build to end of life. I
have led cost reduction gen-to-gen development that reduced replicate cost
by over a factor of five. In my current role as Director of Test and
Package Engineering for MEMS pressure sensors, I teamed with the Director
of Finance and together we cut the cost of our vendors' package and
assembly by ~30% which has the potential to cut our assembly expenses by ~
$0.5-$1.0M per year. I also led an effort that improved the overall
product yield by over 15% on mature products.
I have effectively managed remote departments within the US; have
coordinated vendor equipment build, Far East vendor/partner site
qualifications, product launch, yield management, engineering change and
training efforts. I also developed a ground-up technology cost model used
by executives to determine technology staging and introductions. The cost
model results showed opportunities of 10's of millions of dollar savings.
My strengths are leading multiple concurrent engineering projects,
strategic planning, strong technical and innovative skills, customer
advocacy, product and process development, cost control and people
management. I have hands on experience in electronics, servo design, and
software development both in the past as an engineer and currently from
management positions in small MEMS companies.
Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to speaking
with you.
Sincerely,
Doug Kmiec
