Senior Manager Finance - Shared Services

A senior financial manager responsible for providing accounting and finance

services to Harman - North America.

Finance / Accounting

. Managed the ongoing accounting and finance operations for the North

American business units. These activities included transactional

accounting activities, intercompany accounting, compliance,

reporting, financial analysis, systems development, and policy and

procedure development.

. Coordinated month end close, analysis and reporting with the plant /

divisional controllers. Worked with the corporate consolidations

team on intercompany clearing and final monthly financial reporting.

. Managed other financial activities through third party providers

including internal / external audit coordination, local tax filing,

and several system migrations.

. Migrated accounting activities from individual locations to a shared

services environment, gaining efficiencies and improving

consistency.

. Led the project to analyze a substantial collections issue with a

major customer with involved several hundred thousand transactions,

customer system issues and internal production process issues. We

were eventually able to identify the root causes and negotiate a

settlement with the customer for historical errors.

. Managed the development of detailed process maps and procedures for

each activity in the shared services arena for SOX compliance

reviews, internal training and plant accounting migration

activities. These documents became the basis for the outsourcing

migration to an Indian BPO organization.

Outsourcing

. Managed the offshoring of the accounting functions to an Indian

outsource partner, including planning, systems restructuring,

training and transition activities.

. Participated in the due diligence review and selection of an

outsourcing partner for Harman's North American accounting

operations; also in the development of the Scope of Work and ongoing

governance model.

. Managed the development and implementation of a global workflow

processing tool that enabled Harman to outsource their accounts

payable activity to operations in India.

HURON CONSULTING, Chicago, IL (Southfield office) 2006 - 2009

Senior Project Consultant

A senior project consultant providing financial, process and systems

consulting to various clients. Assignments have included several projects

for Detroit area clients.

. Managed the operations migration to a shared services model for

Delphi's North American financial services from a third party

provider to the Mexican financial operations center and eventually

to an outsourcing partner in India.

. Led the due diligence process and assisted with the selection of the

outsourcing partner for Delphi's global financial operations.

. Led the migration from a GM-based legacy system to a global SAP

template for Delphi's North American Accounts Payable processing,

including coordination with all external interfaces and financial

institutions.

. Assisted in the restatement and recreation of financial statements

for ProQuest Corporation.

application that streamlined the remarketing activities for GM Fleet
