Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations
Recruited to this position after leading several successful projects as a consultant. Responsible for
managing infrastructure operations provided by an outsourced IT Service Provider, Project
management and IT Architecture and Strategy.
Achieved cost savings and established a reference service by transitioning IT outsourcing service
contract to an internal IT service delivery organization. Managed all aspects of the transition overseeing
the contractual and employee matters, asset transfers and the IT Service Transition. 98% of the
formerly outsourced IT employees accepted offers and were transitioned. This transition was
completed on time and $1M under budget with no interruption of services and the company realized
nearly $10M in annual savings.
Demonstrated exemplary Project management skills and commitment to teamwork as a three-time

This was a multi-million dollar project to deploy infrastructure to North American business units,
ultimately affecting over 40,000 employees. The project elements included managing deployment
for both outsourced and non-outsourced business units, coordination with efforts in U.K., managing
multiple sub-contractors and network infrastructure improvements to support the project. This
project reduced the number of login domains from over 30 to 2 and email systems from 6+ to 1.
NOVATEL WIRELESS

Director, IT 2000 - 2001
Recruited to serve as part of the management team brought in to streamline operations and to get the
company though its Initial Public Offering.
Streamlined the IT Systems and worked with the finance and manufacturing groups to consolidate
ERP databases. Leveraged VoIP over the WAN for efficient call routing between San Diego and
Calgary, Canada offices reducing long distance costs by 50%. Implemented disaster recovery
processes.
Introduced first version of patent disclosure for new product idea and wrote two white papers on
the use and deployment of wireless devices for Telecommunications and IT services enabling
company to improve product line and better educate customers.
GDE SYSTEMS/TRACOR CORPORATION/MARCONI

Recruited by GDE Systems, was responsible for managing Applications operations, maintenance and
projects.
Improved labor collection and reporting efficiency by managing a process development team
including IT, Finance, Legal and HR to eliminate paper-based labor collection system, developing
and deploying streamlined processes and leveraging new technology to reduce process time from
two days to four hours. Eliminated four data entry heads and saved ~$800K/year.
Successfully leveraged knowledge from working with Finance and HR while working on the
upgrade of a Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) project which enabled the project team to
have better insight into requirements from those functional areas and allowed for an improved
deployment of the tool with better integration across the company.
Led the IT Integration projects when Tracor purchased GDE Systems from Carlyle Group and
again when Marconi purchased Tracor.

Senior Consultant 1988 - 1995
Transitioned via outsourcing by General Dynamics was responsible for Engineering and Business
applications and pre/post-sales support and client management.
Demonstrated software rapid deployment techniques in designing a client tracking system for a
non-profit company. The result was a system that met all of their requirements, had a user friendly
interface and was developed in a shorter time-frame. In addition, they were able to successfully
market this system to other care providers which allowed them to offset some of their development
costs.
Successfully completed a Business Process Re-Engineering project for a customer who was able
to leverage those process efficiencies into an additional $2M worth of additional contracts with their
primary government customer.
