PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, R/V Oceanus: Sailed as 2nd mate August
2010-November 2010, and June 2011-present. Responsibilities included voyage planning,
chart and publication corrections, safety officer, and maneuvering the 170 foot vessel to
deploy and tow scientific instruments. Able Bodied Seaman March 2010- June 2011.
Duties included helmsman/ lookout, deck maintenance, crane and winch operator, member
of the fire team, and assisting with buoy deployments.
Pier Wisconsin at Discovery World, S/V Denis Sullivan: Sailed as a deck hand. Duties
included helmsman, standing watch, trimming sail, deck maintenance, assisting engine
department, and teaching these skills to high school students. 2009
American Overseas Marine, USNS 1st Lt. Baldomero Lopez: Sailed as deck cadet.
Duties included standing watch with licensed crew, assisting with maintenance, operating
jib boom cranes, participated in anchoring, operating the stern ramp, and conducting
safety drills. 2008
U.S. Coast Guard Reserve: Boatswain mate petty officer 3rd class at Station Point
Allerton, and Station Milwaukee. Duties include training as crewmember on the stations
