Position (last): Infrastructure Analyst
DUTIES -
June 2004 to April 2008: Was responsible for supporting and
implementing servers at the OS level. This included patch
maintenance, problem resolution and operating systems
installation (and decommission) and upgrades. Platforms included
AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris.
April 1998 to June 2004: Was responsible for supporting hardware
on various UNIX and Windows servers. This included problem
resolution, hardware installation, and upgrades. These servers
were primarily Hewlett Packard (HP-UX), Sun (Solaris), and
Compaq (Windows NT and Server). Also worked help desk shifts for

Basic) that pings a database of hosts continually and reports
problems and statistics. This tool was subsequently implemented
at other sites within BellSouth.
Participated in several Disaster Recovery drills in both
technical and administrative roles.
Provided specific on-the-job training (troubleshooting, basic

Shelby Elastics, Inc.
Shelby, NC
1/1988 - 6/1998
Position: Production Planner / Software Developer
DUTIES-
Was responsible for the flow of production from raw material
acquisition to shipping of products and also for management of
office functions of order entry and shipping. Also performed
contract programming using the Business Basic language.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS -
Made significant improvements in the area of inventory control.
Brought inventory dollar variance levels down from 60% to less
than 5% by implementing such tools as computerized reporting of
production, packaging, and shipment figures along with daily
variance reports to more promptly identify inventory errors.
Also, streamlined processes by putting in such things as lot
identification and packaging standards.
Made extensive modification and creation of software in the
sales analysis system to provide more specific uses of sales
history in both reporting and on-line customer service.
Computerized the invoicing and sales analysis of a subsidiary
plant from manual methods, saving the office staff substantial
time and money. This also gave the sales staff and customer
service reps the ability of on-line information for this plant
where it was nonexistent before.
Created and developed new software concerning functions with
Shelby Elastic's banking partner, SunTrust Bank, including a
system to computerize credit-request submits with subsequent
software to electronically exchange data. I installed a system
to summarize invoicing along with electronic transmission of
invoice data to SunTrust allowing, among other advantages, the
faster turning of sales dollars.
