DUTIES -

Was responsible for hardware installation /de-installation and

hardware upgrades of servers and peripherals for large data

centers and other smaller remote sites. This has included

planning for floor space and power, necessary network and fiber

cabling, vendor coordination, and updates to various tools and

databases. Utilized change management, trouble ticket, and asset

control systems as needed. Maintained some local area user

laptops (Windows XP and 7) for problem resolution,

security/software upgrades, and networking issues.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS -

Improved the process and time of deployment for new hardware by

use of an online checklist.

Aided in process of identifying and removing servers, which were

no longer being used, from data center floor, thereby freeing up

infrastructure and saving costs.

April 1998 to June 2004: Was responsible for supporting hardware

on various UNIX and Windows servers. This included problem

resolution, hardware installation, and upgrades. These servers

were primarily Hewlett Packard (HP-UX), Sun (Solaris), and

Compaq (Windows NT and Server). Also worked help desk shifts for

3+ years during this time.

November 1997 to April 1998: Was responsible for computer

operations and problem resolution in a multi-system computer

environment.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS -

Streamlined and developed standard processes for server builds

(operating system and software tools installation).

Authored various portions of the EDS-BellSouth ISO 9000 quality

manual in preparation for certification. Also authored and

Developed a TCP/IP ping-monitoring tool (written in Visual

Basic) that pings a database of hosts continually and reports

DUTIES-

Was responsible for the flow of production from raw material

acquisition to shipping of products and also for management of

office functions of order entry and shipping. Also performed

contract programming using the Business Basic language.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS -

Made significant improvements in the area of inventory control.

Brought inventory dollar variance levels down from 60% to less

than 5% by implementing such tools as computerized reporting of

production, packaging, and shipment figures along with daily

variance reports to more promptly identify inventory errors.

Also, streamlined processes by putting in such things as lot

identification and packaging standards.

Made extensive modification and creation of software in the

sales analysis system to provide more specific uses of sales

history in both reporting and on-line customer service.

Computerized the invoicing and sales analysis of a subsidiary

plant from manual methods, saving the office staff substantial

time and money. This also gave the sales staff and customer

service reps the ability of on-line information for this plant

where it was nonexistent before.

Created and developed new software concerning functions with

Shelby Elastic's banking partner, SunTrust Bank, including a

system to computerize credit-request submits with subsequent

software to electronically exchange data. I installed a system

to summarize invoicing along with electronic transmission of

invoice data to SunTrust allowing, among other advantages, the

faster turning of sales dollars.
