methods and technical expertise to deliver time and cost-saving technology

solutions. A proven ability to support complex networks across wide

geographical areas.

Professional Experience

Circor International Burlington, MA (Office in 2000-2011

Ontario, CA)

IT Director, Global Infrastructure (2008-20011)

I was responsible for the design and deployment of IT infrastructure,

managing vendors and providing 24/7 support for a global network. I also

served as the Subject Matter Expert for IT security and compliance.

. Built a lean manufacturing plant in NY using Cisco wireless, switching,

security and Shoretel VoIP. Utilizing the standards I developed and

deployment best practices the infrastructure was finished ahead of

schedule and on budget allowing the shop to move in early. I wrote the

hand off documentation for the local IT team and trained them on support.

. Consolidated four sites in France into a new data center. Using Cisco

networking and Riverbed WAN Acceleration moved local IT services to the

data center resulting in reduced support cost, higher availability and

better data security. Implemented Barracuda Cloud based server backups

reducing offsite storage cost and reducing recall times.

. Negotiated contracts with key vendors in hardware, software, and

telecommunications reducing acquisition cost, improving services and

maximizing availability.

. Utilized LANsurveyor, Visio, Netzoom, Wireshark, NMAP, Putty, CAT Tools,

etc. to diagram, monitor and backup network devices reducing downtime and

preventing outages.

. Developed standards and procedures with change management for configuring

Cisco ASA and switches for initial deployment, end user remote access and

LAN2LAN VPN reducing training costs and operator error.

. Created policies and procedures for encryption, acceptable use and other

IT services, compliance to customer security polices such as Airbus and

government regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, International Traffic in

Arms Regulations. Worked with the corporate counsel to develop IT

equipment export and encryption policies.

. Deployed an AT&T MPLS network to multiple US locations. Utilized Riverbed

WAN acceleration to provide high throughput while significantly reducing

bandwidth costs.

. Utilized ATT Business Direct website to monitor circuit status and

utilization, open trouble tickets and report on uptime to reduce downtime

and increase efficiency.

. Utilized Riverbed WAN acceleration to provide high throughput while

significantly reducing bandwidth costs and allowing IT service

consolidations to the data center.

. Designed and deployed ShoreTel VoIP systems at multiple sites. Integrated

Cisco wireless phones reducing cabling cost and increasing flexibility.

Diagnosed problems using Wireshark, Shoretel's Trunk Test tool,

PingPlotter Pro and Cisco tools. Used Digi Passort's for out of band

(console) access to the Shoregear switches.

. Designed and deployed a new global AD forest for shared services and

consolidations reducing management cost, errors and increasing

reliability. Deployed Quest "Active Administrator" to audit, backup and

secure AD.

. Worked with global telecom providers to deploy LAN2LAN VPNs in Europe and

India.

. Successfully managed the integration of acquired company networks while

minimizing disruption to the acquired business.

Europe. Responsible for budgeting, Information Security, infrastructure

virtualization, integrating acquisitions and help desk services.

Network Engineer (2000-2006)

Replaced the frame relay WAN with a managed Cisco VPN. The VPN generated

dramatic cost savings and enhanced functionality. Extended the VPN to

Europe.

Designed a Remote Access VPN using Cisco equipment eliminating a Shiva

Remote Access server reducing monthly access costs over $2000.

Designed a scalable, switched local area network for the Corona facility

using managed switches and Fiber Optic distribution panels. Analyzing the

existing network with a Fluke Net Tool showed an overextended, over

utilized network. The stability and bandwidth of the new design has

allowed engineering to roll out 3D Modeling.
