Forerunner in State of MN when composting concepts were unknown. Started
by using European methodologies; was first to recognize value in
composting, "green," benefits, and waste management concepts. Established
state connections; in touch with new, upcoming, marketable solutions
nationwide.
. MPCA licensed; lease/operate 3 sites as RW Farms in the MN Twin Cities
metro area
. Marketed 15,000 yards of finished compost to MN customers, creating
revenues of $150,000, 2010
. Processed/marketed 5,000 tons of waste wood for cities/others,

. Initiated and spearheaded a business partnership with the City of
Minneapolis, resulting in a long-term contract to collect 50% of the

An organic/yard waste composting facility operating in the MN Twin Cities
that developed yard waste and recycling/source separated organics
programs, as well as produced and marketed related finished products.
Operations Manager (Reported directly to CEO) 1998 to 2005
Major role developing and operating this facility; involved in all
aspects of business. Managed operations in 14 compost sites across MN
Twin Cities; directed efforts of 10 equipment operators and 3 site
managers.
. Changed company operations; utilized equipment to cut labor from 9
full time (FT) and 27 temporary employees to 4 FT personnel, while
boosting organic processing volumes 200%
. Analyzed productivity of each operator; restructured to maximize
individual workforce strengths
. Worked closely with environmental services in Carver, Hennepin,
Ramsey, Scott and Wright counties
. Used vast knowledge of collection/processing equipment to cost
effectively negotiate, purchase, and sell high value pieces of
equipment ranging from $25K to $500K
. Created many different varieties of compost/soil blends and marketed
finished compost and wood waste products to the MN Dept. of
Transportation (MN-DOT), commercial businesses, and individuals

Served as Consultant to Master Gardeners at the Minnesota Arboretum to
solve problems and demonstrate the benefits of soil run-off; saved them
$35K in processing fees & $7K/$10K in purchasing annually, 2010
Addressed a group of 35 specialists from Midwest Composting and appeared
as a panel member on topic of "Problem Solving Difficult Issues in the

Worked with a legislator in the State House of Representatives to assist
