Night Operations Manager, 2006-2010
Supervised a team of up to 50 members in a pick/pack and full case
picking liquor distribution operation on behalf of New York's largest
liquor distributor. Monitored the loading and unloading of daily
delivery vehicles. Other duties included but were not limited to the
control of inventory by location, daily assignment of routes, drivers
and pick personnel. Maintained matrices for production and picking
accuracy. Training of employees for PIT, safety and production modules.
Monitored and managed forward pick zones to ensure efficiency. Managed
the proper logging and repack of broken, stain or damaged product to
ensure product returned to stock was indistinguishable from regular
stock. Managed daily routing and correctly assigned reships to proper
day/routes. I assisted the merging of the Buffalo,Rochester and Syracuse
operations in 2008 into the new Lyons distribution facility allowing for
the ability to properly service the accounts for the busy holiday
season.

Distribution Manager, 2004-2006
Responsible for the distribution operations of four liquor warehouses in
New York and Ohio. Supervised a staff including 8 managers, 80
fulfillment personnel and 4 mechanics. Duties also included hiring,
training, disciplinary actions and terminations of operations employees.
Responsible for maintaining all DOT and OSHA requirements. Fleet
management of 150 sales and delivery vehicles including maintenance,
repair, sales and purchasing. Maintained accurate inventory control in
all warehouses to within given expectations while reducing breakage by
5% a year a savings for the company of approximately $85,000.00 the
first year. Set forecasts for labor, vehicles and annual operations
costs. I was successful in reducing the shipping errors to less than a
half a percent. Reduced down time of vehicles by implementing contract
maintenance for passenger vehicles to outside vendors. Successfully
managed the company's shutdown including sale of equipment and fixtures
and the transfer of product to new distributors. Maintained required
personnel till the last delivery day, only losing one driver out of 40.
Lake Beverage Corp., Rochester, NY
Operations Manager, 1990-2004
Managed the Operations of a large Anhueser Busch beer distribution
company. Responsibilities included, inventory control, fleet and
building maintenance, purchasing, safety and the day to day warehouse
and delivery operations for a 5 county region of western NY. Supervised
2 managers in a 2 shift operation in a case pick environment. Maintained
a breakage repack operation to recoup product damaged in the operation
while maintaining a date sensitive perishable inventory. In addition to
the normal day to day operations I was also in charge of special event
equipment delivery, setup and the operation of the equipment and
managing personnel at events bring in new business annually. I worked
closely with vendors for equipment purchase and lease as well as
supplies and building maintenance materials. Prepared the facility for
the y2k possibilities with sufficient generators and special equipment
to ensure a smooth operation in case of electrical or other failures.
While y2k never caused problems, we did survive some major blackouts
using that equipment. I was able to reduce shrinkage by over $150,000 a
year by introducing and implementing computer assisted cycle counting
and routing software as well as product handling methods which reduced
breakage a spoilage.
