Medical Administrative Specialist Oct 1970 - Aug 1993
Began working as an Outpatient Records Clerk, pulling patients’ outpatient records from
shelves for anticipated doctors visits. Filed lab, x-rays slips, and miscellaneous
paperwork in outpatient records. Filed outpatient records back to their checked out slot.
Also worked with inpatient records, transferred patients’ data into system. Also used
ICD-9 books to obtain proper codes for discharging diagnosis and procedures physician
wrote down in patients’ clinical records. Also transcribed doctors’ narrative summaries
and operation reports via Dictaphone. Ran the Admission and Disposition Office,
processing patients into and out of the hospital. Made arrangements for patients to be
transferred to other medical facilities via ambulance or by aero medical evacuation.
Provided insurance companies with medical information on patients who signed
appropriate release of medical information form(s). Managed the Central Appointment
Desk and the Patient Information Desk. Served as the CHAMPUS Advisor to patients. I
also handled patients’ complaints. Worked as a cashier in the hospital’s business office.
Served as Superintendent of Personnel and Administration. Ensured mail room and the
medical library ran smoothly. Ensured all departments in the hospital had their necessary

effective performance/appraisals reports and submitting justified recommendations for
awards and/or decorations. Assisted the Commander in the administrative aspect of
taking disciplinary action. Set up and assisted the commander during Commander’s Call.
Driver License Examiner Aug 1999 - Feb 2011
On a rotation basis, manned the reception/information desk, screened all customers
needing driver license services ensuring they had their required proper document(s).
Answered phones and made appointments. Processed customers for their Florida driver
licenses or Florida identification cards. Entered customers’ information into the data
base, scanned their documents, took their picture and collected funds from them.
Reinstated driving privileges of customers who were suspended after they provided the
necessary paperwork. Evaluated driving skills to ensure customer can operate a vehicle
skillfully and safely. Counted monies at the end of the day and ensured funds for the day
balanced, prepared reports and locked funds in safe. Took end of day inventory to ensure
all accountable items were scanned back into the system.
