Personal Statement

I am a sports and business management major who takes pride in working hard to put smiles on the faces

of those around me. I am known for my persistence and diligent hard work. I am a former four-year

scholar and team captain on the James Madison University football team. I work hard and am a team

player so that those around me do not have to work extra hard due to my lack luster behavior.

Experience

Director of Sales and Marketing :(Jan.2011-Present) Tidewater Sports Management. Establish

corporate marketing strategies and initiate implementation of marketing plan

• Develop promotional campaigns, design product packaging and POS materials, in addition to

organizing marketing services to provide maximum assistance and support to field selling,

including all merchandising and creative services functions.

• Oversee all areas of marketing and recommend marketing mix, including regional and national

advertising, promotional campaigns, endorsements and sponsors, packaging, website and DR

commercial direction, media and PR activities, event planning and trade-show coordination.

• Evaluate market research to determine prospective target market and product competition.

• Participate as a team member on new product review and selection and provide specific market

information relating to competitive products, services, prices, and methods of distribution.

• Develop & manage the marketing personnel, including hiring, compensation, training, etc.

• Develop and execute business plans and budgets for the Sales and Marketing departments

• Develop and implement marketing programs that are in alignment with annual business plan.

Sales Manager: (July 2010-Dec.2010) Aarons’ Sales & Lease Ownership. Duties include: Selling top

store merchandise, making sure customer service personnel are doing correct paperwork and are

following company policy in all phases. Making face- to-face sales, making sure that our delivery

personnel are on time and respectful to merchandise and customers. Setting the goals board and making

sure that all positions reach their daily, weekly and monthly goals.

Intern Assistant (student): (April 2010-June 2010) MV7 inc. As an internassistantwithMV7incorporated

I worked with Mr. Michael Vick in the business side of sports handling flight arrangements, business

deals alongside his agent, worked football camps in the area and made sure Mr. Vick had a contract in
