PO Box 6000, Binghamton, NY 13902-6000 August, 2009 –May, 2011
1. Head Teaching Assistant in the Engineering Design Division
2. Responsible for teaching two laboratory sessions per week to freshmen undergraduate engineering students, subject areas include: drawings & schematics, elementary circuits, Microsoft Office, Solid Edge, Mathematica, Matlab, ARENA, LabVIEW, functional decomposition, reverse engineering concepts, and engineering ethics. Also advise students both technically and professionally on their reverse engineering and conceptual design projects.
Rockwell Automation - Anorad Division: 100 Precision Drive, Shirley, NY 11967-4710 May, 2010 – August, 2010
1. Process Capability Analysis Intern
2. Developed a program in Microsoft Excel that converted disorganized data files from quality testing equipment into readable, usable data sheets accompanied by quality control- and process capability charts. Developed a procedure to quickly present these data using a Minitab process-capability six-pack. Identified human-factors related sources of error for the misclassification of inspected parts. Explained and presented process capability theory to engineering management, and documented procedures for testing-equipment operators.
Mill-Max Manufacturing Corp: 190 Pine Hollow Road, Oyster Bay, NY 11771 May, 2008 - August, 2008
1. Quality Assurance & Manufacturing Engineer Intern
2. Responsible for the design, development, and execution of several projects related to quality assurance and lean manufacturing in the screw-machine department. Worked with management to develop and test the use of statistical process controls in an effort to reduce time spent by operators adjusting machines, thus affording them more time to setup subsequent jobs. Analyzed daily production and inspection reports, and interpreted patterns for management. Designed several experiments to identify and solve issues that plagued production loss and scrap rates. Identified and suggested solutions for procedures that contradicted lean manufacturing principles. Engineered a time- and money-saving protocol for inspection scheduling. Extensively communicated ideas and theories between management and manufacturing workers. Wrote several programs in Microsoft Excel to aid in the daily scheduling and long-term management of the machine floor, and worked with computer programmers to implement them. Formally submitted a report describing my observations, procedures, and conclusions.
