City Of Pontiac, Pontiac, MI

This was a contract position to create a new finance system. I was entrusted to create a new finance system and

processes, which I recommended Banner 2000 with all the modules, i.e. General Ledger, Accounts Payable,

Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Budget, Work order and Assets Management. I developed and reengineered all the

accounting processes from the single entry legacy system they had in place. I created a new chart of account in the

G/L and interfaced it to A/P, Payroll, A/R, Asset Management and live interface between the A/P and Budget

module for full control on line item expenditures. These reengineering cut down the processing of invoices from

requisition to check from six months to two weeks, saving the city millions of dollars. I worked with team leaders in

the various departments to train all their employees. I prepared and lead the city for external audits which was 3

years behind. This process was completed saving the city over $8M over the first six months.
