To Whom It May Concern :

I currently have an active Florida Certified Residential Contractors

license.

I upgraded from my 1991 issued Sarasota County "C" license in 2003.

I am skilled and knowledgeable in every phase of building and the codes in

general.

Carpentry is my strongest asset and I believe my abilities are as good as

or better than anyone. My knowledge of masonry (which is key in this state)

is very strong. My last two personal homes were wired by me. I pulled the

permit as an individual to allow me that option..

I began in 1972 as a framing carpenter in Memphis, TN and obtained a State

of Tennessee General Contractors License in 1977.

I moved to Florida in 1989 and have seen firsthand the changes (for the

better) in the building code.

I began drawing plans for houses in 1977 and have designed and drawn

several personal homes and homes/additions/remodels for others. I started

drawing with AutoCAD in the late 1980's.

I won first place in a Home Builders Association of Memphis annual

competition in 1987 for a personal home that I built.

There were 5 winners based on 5 different cost/square footage categories.

I believe I could be a strong asset to the Sarasota County Building

Department.

I am personable and can tactfully deal with any situation that arises. I

understand the role and vital need for good unbiased Building Inspectors to

assure that all aspects of building are held to a high standard.
