Project Engineer Primary responsibilities -- Designed an automated
solar intensifier wash system, a Robot load/unload work cell, the
structural steel for over head conveyor, a vision system to inspect clear
plastic bottles, a paint reclaim system, a water wash spray booth, a
Electrostatic painting system and Electrostatic Masking System (patent
pending).

Senior Design Engineer
Defined project scope and target market business opportunities. Developed,
directed and designed products with strong customer involvement: prototype,
fielded test, and work through product launch. Trained customers, coating
suppliers and internal personnel on safe function methods. Managed new
product releases with Stage Gate process
. Project/Process Manager for an Abated Spray Booth system that
included the development of a low cost and volatile organic chemical
regenerative absorption bed, blowers, multiple burners and logic
controls and met FM and CSA construction standards. This project
blended development team experts located in Punta Gorda Florida,
Atlanta Georgia, Defiance Ohio, and Barrie Ontario. The developed
technology replacement an expensive carbon filters (industrial
standard) which made the process of reducing VOC emissions
affordable for small and medium sized business's. Developed pricing
and forecasting market size models as part of this project and all
other projects.
. Managed Consumable Products (1 million dollars). Simplified product
offering by eliminating slow moving products by replacing them with
a higher value product. Developed strategic business partnerships
that reduced labor content, delivered a user-friendly product and
reduced inventory turns. Developed financial models that clarified
business planning that removed seen and obscure obstacles.
. Developed new powder coating process for industry changing powder-
coating applicators for Chrysler. Team members and business partners
were in Chicago, Indianapolis, Pontiac Toledo and St Gallen
Switzerland. This new process doubled flow rate, increased first
pass transfer efficiency and eliminated defects while reducing
finishing floor space by ~50% and reducing initial capital
requirements by ~30%.
. Deployed "Blue Printing Process" targeting Large Truck
manufacturers' finishing needs. The "Blue Printing Process" is used
to define new processes outcomes that change the current state of
the manufacturing. This process is a tool used to define desired
outcomes, which promotes sustainable future product growth.
. Awarded 15 patents associated with manual spray guns, automatic
spray guns, air hose fitting, turbine bell cups, electrostatic
charging method, fluid seals and pumps. Sales for these products
exceeded $20M. 10 patents pending that change current processes and
pumps.
. New factory wide product packaging standards that reduced packing
cost by 12% and labor content by one-man year.
. Fluid Handling - private label fluid pumps and accessories. I was
the technical representative that co-coordinated the product
selection, pump package configuration, and Marketing literature. The
fluid handling product line severed domestic and European markets,
which had different market, and product needs. Also was the
technical representative during business partnership negotiations
and on going business meetings.
