Selected Accomplishments
Turned sales around in struggling territory. Recruited to develop Valeant
business in territory that ranked last among 65 in prescription sales.
Developed and executed strategic plan for winning back former customers and
prospecting new accounts. Built customer base and sales to achieve rank of
21st in first year, 4th in second year.
Established market for new product, new company. Hired by startup Kos
Pharmaceuticals to establish market for lipid-management product. Called on
more than 150 Connecticut cardiology and internal medicine practices.
Established profitable new relationships to grow sales. Led Eastern U.S.
district in sales five years running.
Built a high-performing sales team. Designated as Kos District Sales
Trainer in recognition of performance in building new territory. Helped
select new sales people. Delivered product knowledge, sales skills and
presentation skills training. Led new personnel to further expand market
share in Northeast U.S. district.
Won key medical practitioner's business. Leading prescriber of cancer-
therapy treatment used a Valeant competitor's product exclusively. Called
on customer repeatedly, presenting clinical studies and testimonials from
prescribing physicians. Gained new client's prescription business with
persistence and persuasive sales approach.
Redesigned sales collateral. Approached to advise Family Care Visiting
Nurse home-care business on effectiveness of sales support materials.
Evaluated existing sales collateral and trade show materials, including
booth display. Developed more effective promotional materials, supporting
increased sales for the business.
Career History
Territory Manager, Triax Pharmaceuticals, 2010 to Present. A marketer of
specialty pharmaceutical products. Drive sales of prescription products to
dermatology practices in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Territory Manager, DUSA Pharmaceuticals, 2008 to 2009. A $37M manufacturer
of dermatological products. Recruited to develop market in Connecticut and
neighboring states for new photodynamic-therapy product for the treatment
of actinic keratosis. Sold light source and topical skin treatment to
dermatologists.
Sales Specialist, Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, 2004 to 2008. A
$1.7B multinational manufacturer of neurological and dermatological
products. Recruited to develop territory including Connecticut, Rhode
Island and western Massachusetts. Sold products for treating Parkinson's
Disease, migraines, epilepsy and skin conditions.
Territory Manager / Sales Trainer, Kos Pharmaceuticals, 1997 to 2004.
Startup pharmaceutical company. Built two sales territories from the ground
up in Connecticut. Promoted new product for lipid management to
cardiologists and hospitals. Led sales force development as district
trainer. Company sold to Abbott.
Earlier: Sales Representative, UCB Pharma. A global biopharma company. Sold
pharmaceutical products to allergists, dermatologists, gynecologists,
oncologists, other specialists, hospitals and primary care physicians.
