Loss Prevention Consultant - Great American Insurance Company -
Richmond, VA May 2008 to September 2011. Perform risk assessment and
risk improvement activities to a wide variety of policyholders to
include; contractors, manufacturers, marinas and boat dealers, camps,
automobile and motorcycle dealerships, apartments, condominiums,
restaurants, manufacturers, and contractors. The company focuses on
workers' compensation, property, inland marine, general liability, and
builders' risk coverages.
Loss Control Representative - Middle Oak Specialty - Richmond, VA
August 2002 to May 2008. Performed risk assessments for our specialty
market, i.e. habitational policyholders. The business niche was
geared toward to property and general liability coverages for
apartment complexes, condominiums, and other habitational properties.
Loss Control Manager - CompManagement - Richmond, VA March 1997 to
December 2001. As a Third Party Administrator, we provided our
clients with workers' compensation risk improvement activities to
include; site visits to evaluate employee hazards, training of
supervisors and employees, and, annual review of workers' compensation
injuries to develop plans to reduce costs.
Marketing and Loss Control Representative - Amerisafe Insurance -
Richmond, VA November 1995 to March 1997. Provided marketing and loss
control services for the General Industry Division of this company. I
was responsible for identifying and appointing agents in Virginia.
Once the business was submitted, I would provide risk assessments of
the risks.
Loss Control Manager - Tek Insurance Services - Richmond, VA May 1993
to November 1995. Performed risk assessment and risk improvement
services for a number of large property and casualty insurance
carriers.
Loss Control Territorial Manager - Continental Insurance - Richmond,
VA November 1984 to May 1993. Managed an office of ten professional
staff and three clerical support staff members. Our office was
responsible with providing loss control services to our large accounts
to include contractors, manufacturers, municipalities and other
government entities, industrial, and commercial accounts. Our office
consistently ranked as one of the top offices for time service,
quality, and production.
Safety, Health and Training Manager - Brockway Glass - Washington, PA
May 1979 to January 1984. Duties include the initiation,
implementation, and administration of all plant safety/health
activities such as: controlling and/or eliminating workplace
exposures, industrial hygiene surveys, workers' compensation
administration, fire protection/prevention, supervisory and employee
training. Annual Workers' Compensation Insurance costs were reduced
by $300,000 as a result of program effectiveness.
Loss Control Representative - Maryland Casualty Insurance -
Harrisburg, PA February 1977 to May 1979. Performed loss control risk
evaluations and risk improvement services for; contractors,
manufacturers, and other commercial entities. Services included
assisting the policyholders in the design and development of loss
control programs relative to Workers' Compensation, Fleet, General
Liability, and Commercial Property coverages.
