. Disassembled infantry and crew-served weapons (namely M16A2, M16A4,
M4, M4A1, M2 .50 cal., MK19, M240 series, M249 SAW), inspecting parts
visually and with aid of gauges as disassembly is performed, checking
for any discrepancies - to include but not limited to; cracks,
deformities, distortions, bends, pitted areas, along with general
wear and tear. While performing these tasks I used special tools,
power tools, special fixtures, precision measuring instruments
(torque wrenches), gauges (bore straightness, firing pin intrusion,
erosion, head space {minimum and maximum}, hi powered scopes and
lights, along with various hand tools.
. Repaired any parts deemed damaged or out of tolerance in accordance
with a Statement of Work, Depot Maintenance Work Request and/or Tech
Manuals and either replaced or repaired defective parts. This tasks
includes properly marking items to be run thru a corresponding
process of washing, blasting, oiling, Magnaflux, gauging, anodizing,
among other stripping and coating procedures. Also performed checks
for proper head space on torqued barrels and buffer extensions.
. Test fired weapons for proper function, cyclic rate of fire timing
(using an electronic counter), targeting and accuracy. Checked for
any malfunctions, diagnosing and correcting any problems or
discrepancies.
. Cleaned weapons utilizing particular (Safety Klean & Breakthrough)
cleaning solvents (Respirator Certified - expires 15 Dec. 2011),
compressed air tools (with special fixtures), bench grinders, hand
drills and other mechanized brushes.
. Inspected weapons after assembly and function testing checking many
various points of weapon before passing on to Certified Product
Inspector. Applied and sealed Universal Identification Decal to
corresponding weapon.
