client to determine risk level; Processing with client until restored pre-
crisis level of functioning or if unable to stabilize dispatching mobile
team for face to face intervention. Fielding a variety of general mental
health calls in areas of but not limited to family issues, substance abuse,
chemical dependency, and domestic violence. Making referrals as needed to
appropriate agencies for clients. Receiving transferred calls from 911
operators and assessing crisis situation and appropriate response. Large
volume of calls from case managed clients having medication related issues
and or non-medication compliant and same said clients having poor to
marginal insight to their own condition. Documenting calls and making
communications with case managers or service agencies. Program focus

Primary focus: To partner with the UPC Clinical team in the assessment
area and the 23-hour observation and inpatient units: Physician, Nurse and
Crisis BHT coordinating and identifying precipitating factors leading up to
the current crisis with a heavy emphasis on suicidal / homicidal ideations
and psychosis. Coordinate care and discharge planning with the patient,
family members, clinics, local providers, and/or other referrals sources:
Triage in-coming patients; Provide brief intervention counseling and
educate them on Mental Health and Substance Abuse matters; Redirect
inappropriate patient behavior. Participates in CPI, seclusion and
restraints if necessary to insure patient and staffs safety. Conducts
follow-up telephone calls to outpatient site clinical team members,
identify family members, providers and community service agencies to ensure
post discharge treatment. Document all billable services in UPC MIS
systems, all patient activities regarding interventions, coordination of
care, treatment and discharge planning.

Indian Community (SRPMIC) BHS Specialty Services
Primary focus: Provide crisis intervention to SRPMIC Community members to
facilitate immediate stabilization for persons (individuals and families)
experiencing emotional, mental or behavioral crisis situations. Assessing
the need for additional services and providing referrals to appropriate
providers. Focus of care with the seriously mentally ill (SMI), children /
adolescents and includes suicide and family interventions where a traumatic
event had recently occurred. Provide emergency psychological status
assessments and care to crisis clients for behavioral health, violent crime
and Domestic Violence issues encountered by SRPD by making face to face
contact in the community and or at the SRPD DOC. Develop short term crisis
management plans. Ensure plan is monitored and coordinated with appropriate
staff when client is referred for services or in case of emergency
psychiatric hospitalization. Prepared reports in an accurate and timely
manner. Ensuring that reports be delivered SRPMIC Tribal courts, Office of
the Prosecutor and the Evaluating Psychiatrist, where the crisis
intervention worker requested an Emergency Apprehension by SRPD.
