• Director of Facilities, Intermediate District 287:

May 2007 – Current

o Built a Facility Management Department from ground up. Contracts for services, building standards, correct staffing, Health & Safety program, Hazardous Waste Management, etc.

o Team leader for construction of new school, North Education Center in New Hope

Highly innovative design and use of new methods and materials

Site purchase negotiation

o Implemented energy saving systems and operations to save the District $100,000+ annually

o Finished construction project of South Education Center in Richfield, 2007-08

o Team Leader in the lease and eventual purchase of Edgewood Education Center from member district (Osseo)

o Long term facility plan for District was continued and expanded to allow District to move from leased sites to owned sites and improve delivery of educational services

o Expanded Building Automation System/Energy Management to all owned buildings for better control of HVAC systems

o Managed 4.7 million dollar operating budget, 500,000 sq. ft., nine locations.

o Lead project team and managed $30m+ construction project of the North Education Center, New Hope. Utilized the Best Value Procurement process and saved over $2million.

HC Public Safety Facility _ 425,000 sq. ft. 2000 – 2002

o Over saw the management and operation of the HC Government Center

o Established a facility audit for County facilities for short and long term maintenance and capital budgeting

o Implement the Facilities Management Plan (10-year maintenance, tracking improvements and capital expenses) in the HCGC

o Prepare various monthly, quarterly and annual reports for budgets, projects and staffing

o Participate on the Facilities Management Team and expanded Property Services Management Team

o Experience in working with staff and others to investigate energy efficiency options. Utilizing opportunities and other conservation measures which led to annual savings of $250,000+ in energy expenditures

o Operating Budget Coordinator for the Facilities Management Division since 2002, the Division’s operating budget was $22M including and energy budget of $7.3M. My responsibilities included budget preparation and overseeing the operating budgets of 23+ building managed by Property Services, totaling over 6M square feet.

o Insured the Public Safety Facility (Jail) opened and was fully operational in July 2001.

o Managed the construction and installation of operational equipment and facility management related areas of the Public Safety Facility ($69M project)

Inspected construction process for quality, accuracy and efficiency

Developed the Facility Management staffing plan and supervised the hiring of 25 staff

Developed an accurate Operating Budget ($2.5M) for the new facility with no budget or jail operations history (425,00 sq. ft.)

Worked collaboratively with staff and vendors to insure the building automation system and all other building systems were fully and correctly operational

Collaboratively worked with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office to insure the facility opened on schedule and managed the operations from opening, July 2001 till transfer in February of 2002.
