1. GOVERNMENT OF MAHARASTRA (GOM): TCL PROJECT DEC’10-TILL DATE

Environment : DB2 ESE Version v8.1, v9.x

Role : Database Administrator for DB2 UDB (LUW).

DESCRIPTION:

GOM having Integrated Financial Management system, it’s various Applications developed by Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra under Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS). I was the primary DB2 UDB DBA for this project in my tenure with the govt. I was also supporting many DB2 connect servers and was a helping hand in other several projects supported by our team in a whole.

Responsibilities:

• Designed logical and physical databases and database objects for DB2 UDB on Development, Test and Production environments.

• Wrote several scripts to support the 24/7 loads to the database tables.

• The challenges involved were online backup, offline backups.

• Set up HADR for the production and Maintaining HADR databases on both servers.

• Performed fix pack upgrades on the servers.

• Creation of Database Objects Tables, Table spaces, Indexes and Extensively involved in performance tuning,

2. ECP (ENTERPRISE CUSTOMER PORTAL) AND MCP (MOBILE CUSTOMER PORTAL) TCL PROJECT JAN’10-TILL DATE

Role : Database Administrator for DB2 UDB (AIX).

DESCRIPTION:

ECP: It is an interface for the enterprise customers to access/manage the subscribed services. The operations such as reporting of incidents /information about the services etc. Which are currently operated on distributed basis or by individual basis? For this target audience are all the enterprise customers of TCL.

MCP: Mobile Customer Portal is a web-based application meant for the customers of Tata Communications to manage their business online. Tata Communications intends to provide to a wide range of web users, comprehensive access to its Business Support System (BSS) resources and manage supporting processes. This integrated Portal provides seamless integration of various modules like Trouble Ticket, Managed Roaming Services etc. along with third party services like Voice Access Services, Reflex etc.

Responsibilities:

• Tuning of db and dbm configuration parameters.

• Database (DB2 UDB) maintenance and support.

• Performance tuning the database for better and faster results.

• Responding on daily user queries

• Worked with data movement utilities IMPORT, LOAD, and EXPORT under high volume conditions.

• Database refresh as per the requirement.

• Involved in fix packs upgrades.

• Daily and weekly database Maintenance activities such as backup, reorgchk, reorg, run-stats and all related activities for OLTP database.

• LIFERAY: Life-ray is customized web application based on the Business Process Management which forms the front-end for the various tasks and processes in order to process an order in the E2E OSS/BSS (Operational Support System/Business Support System) system. Implementation of OSS/BSS, an end-to-end(E2E) solution for customer management, order management, workflow management, billing and service assurance.

Responsibilities:

• Installation of DB2 UDB binaries and Fixpaks

• Create,Build and upgradation of UDB instances and databases

• Restoration of databases from production to development envronment

• Problem solving through 24/7 production support.

• Scheduling jobs on UDB Databases through a scheduler ( Autosys).
