Design of tooling for the SJ30-2 business jet. This tooling includes assembly jigs

and fixtures for fwd, mid, aft fuselage, wings and empennage, drill plates, locating

fixtures, contour check tools, work stands, master gages, hoist tools, and bench

assembly fixtures. Responsible for design of final mate fixture (mating of fwd, mid,

aft fuselage), design of tooling for installation of vertical stabilizer into

aft fuselage, structure/airframe for engineering modification. Heavily involved

with analysis of laser shoot point data and graphic representation of that data.

Responsible for assigning job duties to five tool design engineers, maintaining

records of expected completion dates, advice on design, weekly reports of work

extensive use of wire EDM technology. This type of tooling included multiple

station grind fixtures, EDM fixtures, gages, inspection tools, turn fixtures,

EDM seal slot fixtures, NC milling and lathe fixtures, and drill fixtures. The

majority of these tools incorporated hydraulic work piece clamping and part

location repeatability within .0002”. Responsible for design of all mechanical

hardware related to tooling, follow-up verification of functionality,

documentation and drawings as required, and manufacturing support.

Sept. 1996-Dec. 2001 Wainwright Industries, St. Peters, MO.

Title: Senior Design Engineer...designed a variety of tools for Boeing, G.E.

Aircraft Engines, in-house tooling with complex mechanisms and components.

Designed modular type tooling for jet aircraft engine components

(hangars, shrouds, turbine rotors, nozzles, vanes) incorporating extensive use of wire

EDM technology. This type of tooling included multiple station grind fixtures, EDM

fixtures, drill templates, super-plastic form diffusion bond dies and injection

molds that formed small components of the cockpit structure.
