Dear Sir or Ma'am,
I have had the privilege of working for successful companies and have
enjoyed applying my engineering expertise in various challenging roles.
These fine companies placed high levels of confidence in my ability to get
the job done and were never disappointed. Working on projects ranging
from $300K to $50M, my perseverance and superb work ethic carried each one
through to completion ahead of schedule and under budget.
Currently, my engineering assignments include sole responsibility and
oversight for a $3M engineering test development project for a Sikorsky
Aerospace customer. This 18 month project involves integrating state of
the art test equipment into a 19" rack console, writing test procedures for
5 Line Replaceable Units (LRU's), and proving the concept according to ISO
9001 quality standards.
The central core of my engineering expertise is centered on a solid RF
foundation. My U.S. Air Force experience provided in-depth technical
knowledge of Radar and Electronic Countermeasure principles. While employed
at Rockwell Collins, my RF and analog design engineering skills were
engaged in a legacy high power amplifier redesign project to remove
obsolescent components. Completing this project ahead of schedule and
under budget provided seamless mission support for a major DOD customer.
Various printed circuit board (PCB) projects demonstrated my ability to
comply with project design specifications and adapt when customer demands
evolved. Also at Rockwell Collins, I co-designed a RF transmitter module
(1-4 GHz frequency range), designing and building channel filters, and
tested design using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).
I have enjoyed working with multidisciplinary engineering design teams
for nearly 10 years (mechanical, electrical, systems, software, and
industrial engineers) and take pride in how I communicate with others to
achieve success. I have found that when problems occur, it is best to get
engineering minds together as quickly as possible to prevent adverse
impacts to project schedule and budget. Again, getting it right the first
time to meet schedule constraints is my central focus.
During my career, I have had led many LEAN and Six Sigma project
initiatives directly applicable to cost reduction and quality improvement.
In my resume you will see that I have successfully led both small and very
large projects always exceeding my company's and my customer's
expectations. My engineering philosophy is grounded in preventing problems
before they happen. When that is not possible, I work quickly to analyze
the root cause and correct the problem the first time.
I thank you for the opportunity to candidate in your growing and profitable
company. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Rod Hauptmeier
