Provide technical expertise and monitoring of levee system f lood control functions in state government agency

E mergency Operation Center for high tide events, high water, and hurricanes. Keep track of f lood gate closures

and wind directions, wind speed. Monitor computer readings and staff gauges on rate of water r ise to order

certain f lood gates be secured. Work with federal, state, and local agencies such as Army Corps of Engineers,

C ity of New Orleans, National Guard, N.O.F.D., N.O.P.D., Public Belt Railroad, National Weather Service, Dept.

of Streets, Port of New Orleans, Homeland Security to notify them of gate closures. Conduct visual inspection of

levees before and after hur ricanes and high tide events. Use survey equipment to conduct levee stability tests.

Recognized for outstanding performance by levee board president for going above and beyond call of duty in

search and rescue of civilians during hur ricane Kat rina 2005.
