1 Project Name : Data Governance Portal for Network Monitoring Systems

Client : Cellular South, USA

Description of the project

There was a necessity and requirement from the client to develop a web based portal application to monitor the migration of their applications from the legacy systems to MS SQL Server platform.

I was given the complete ownership to design and architect the web based portal that will handle data migration and data archival activities.

Roles : Technology Architect

Responsibility : Introduced the following best practices in the team:

1. Proper Code Review process to optimize the review efficiency and effectiveness

2. Learnings from all the applications to be shared and spread across.

3. Creating a code repository where code components are readily available to be reused.

2 Project Name : AXE/DMS/S12 Traffic Measurements System – Data Gateway(DG)

Client : Telstra, Australia

Description of the project

Build a PSTN Traffic measurement system called Data Gateway (DG) that collects the traffic data from AXE/DMS/S12 switches in the network, validates the traffic and send them to downstream systems. It also required a GUI in Oracle APEX where the users can view the error/activity logs of the system and accordingly take precautionary measures.

Role : Solution Architect and Team Lead

Responsibility : • Successfully completed a Proof of Concept (POC) that the data from the switches can be PUSHED rather than POLLED to DG.

• Successfully developed a solution to capture the logging of the application in real time and directly update in database.

• Developed GUI using Oracle APEX.

• Suggested the use of X.25 call forwarding mechanism at router level for AXE switches.

• Developed SSL over telnet for secure communications.

• Received 7/7 Engagement Level feedback for her technical contribution and excellent delivery of the work.

3 Project Name : AXE/S12 Alarms monitoring and measurement system

Client : Telstra, Australia

Description of the project

Telstra wanted to decommission it’s old hardware and systems for alarm monitoring from PSTN networks. It gave a proposal to build an Alarm monitoring measurement system that collects the alarms from AXE/S12 switches in the network, validates the traffic and send them to downstream systems. It also required a GUI in Oracle APEX where the users can view run the reports and get information on all the alarms to take precautionary measures.

Role : Solution Architect and Team Lead

Responsibility : • Successfully completed a Proof of Concept (POC) of communicating with the exchanges via MTP protocol using X.25 network cards.

• Developed a POC using Apache server and python scripting for GUI.

• Designed the architecture based on Active Message Queue.

• Developed GUI using Oracle APEX.

• Developed the solution for load balancing and automatic failover mechanism through GUI.

• Developed CSV adaptor module for converting the alarm data into csv and then loading it into database for viewing in GUI.

Description of the project

Travelled Onsite (Melbourne, Australia) for the Transition of Network Monitoring Systems from the third party vendor. Took the knowledge transfer and was able to win the confidence of the client that these systems can be maintained and developed from offshore.

Role : Team Member

Responsibility : • Successfully got the knowledge transition for NEXIS and Data Gateway application platform.

• Data Gateway platform was enhanced to migrate from Red Hat Linux to SUSE Linux and support 2 more new applications i.e. EMOS and AOM.

• Impressed the client by fixing defects in NEXIS that were very old for about 2 years.

• Implemented an automatic switchover/failover script to switch between Main and standby servers.

FreeFlow Print Manager It is a java based application which interacts with wide variety of Xerox Production Printers over IPP and LPR protocols.

Client : Simulator Development Division of Indian Army

Description of the project

The tank vehicle driving simulator for the army is an application, which interacts with the driving related controls on the mock-up housing of the vehicle. The simulator is intended for the purpose of training raw/trained drivers in familiarizing with controls of the army vehicle and driving under various conditions (terrain, visibility, weather, load, etc.) and assessing their performance

3 Project Name : SEM2 LIN Master Tool

Client : EATON Corporation, USA

Description of the project

The Smart Exterior Mirror (SEM) consists of a microcontroller and a power-die connected with all required actuators and sensors. The software integrated into this microcontroller, controls all functions and communication. SEM2 uses a LIN-Bus interface to communicate with the master control device.

The SEM2 LIN Master Tool (SLIM) is a GUI based application which interacts with SEM2 over LIN. The tool provides interface for LIN commands for mirror control, flash reprogramming capability and other diagnostic features for evaluation of the SEM2 software running in the microcontroller.

Role : Team Member

Responsibility : • Developed Front-end Graphical User Interface for user Control commands for communicating with firmware.

• Designed and Developed “Flash Loader” module.

• Developed Simulator for Testing each Module

• Writing the code for “flash loader” module in both LIN and MON08 interfaces.

4 Project Name : HBATC (Manual/Automatic Temperature Control) boards of a HVAC(Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning) for cars

Client : TRW Automotive, USA.

Description of the project

The HB ATC will control two zones of temperature. The front zone will be controlled with Automatic Temperature Control. The rear zone will be controlled manually. With minimal user interaction with the temperature control buttons, the automatic control will actuate the appropriate AC or heater functions and modes. The control head will communicate with other ECUs over CAN-Bus.

Responsibility : • Preparing a test plan as per the SRS (Software Requirement Specification) document.
