Production Manager
Patmont Motor Werks - Livermore, CA
1987 to January 2004
Patmont Motor Werks was a manufacturing company that started out small. It was a family business
that grew over 17 years and became very profitable. We produced a small motorized scooter that was
developed by the founder of the company Steve Patmont. Over the years, we produced many different
kinds of scooter's and even had a manufacturing department in Ireland. Because I was there from the
beginning and the company grew at a pace that was faster than expected. I had to step up along the
way and grow into each position as needed. I started out as a basic assembler and started welding some
small components for our assembly line. As time went on, I was asked to do more of the welding and
fabrication in house. I began to manage a small group of employees in a welding and fabrication
department I helped develop. As the growing continued, I was asked to set up a full power coating
department complete with staffing. We produced painted parts for the assembly line under my
supervision. I was then asked to open up a full metal fabrication department and a full sheet metal
department down the street. When I was finished with both departments we produced all of our metal
components for the whole company. That's when I was given the title of Production manger. I set up four
departments and each department reported to me as their Production manager. I was also asked to
coordinate
all shipments to our factory in Ireland and still maintain production in California. I had the privilege of
traveling to Ireland from time to time to train our production staff on how to produce our products. The last
position I held before the company relocated was the Special Projects Manager. I was still overseeing
the production but was asked to help develop new products with our in house engineer. During that time
the company owner decided to move the company to a more business friendly state. I was not able to
go but did help Steve relocate the company to Nevada before my departure.
