Fixed Asset Management

ERP: NetSuite

Outline: Satmetrix was managing its fixed asset differently at different

subsidiaries. US subsidiary was managing its fixed assets using Sage

software. UK and India subsidiaries were managing it using excel. The

project was to centralize fixed asset management in NetSuite, so that

adding assets, maintaining assets, depreciation of assets, and movement of

assets across subsidiaries, disposal of assets and reporting across

subsidiaries are done efficiently and correctly.

Role: Business Applications Lead

Responsibilities:

. Audit existing system and make corrections to depreciation methods and

recommendations on asset management.

. Interact with NetSuite to understand the system and make

recommendation on changes in current software.

. Migration of assets to new system

. Create new roles, new reports for efficient asset management.

. Train users in various subsidiaries on asset management.

Implementation of Partner Commission in NetSuite

ERP: NetSuite

Outline: Satmetrix pays commission to partners for selling its products..

The commission calculation is different for different products and also

varies with time period. Satmetrix also pays royalties on certain products

and also pays fees to vendors who provide services. The commission

calculations was done in excel by different product heads and finance teams

members and this has been entered in NetSuite manually .All these three

types of contract mentioned above needs to be handled by implementing the

partner commission module.

Role: Business Applications Lead

Responsibilities:

. Present the partner commission module to management and convince them

on its advantages.

. Work with product heads and understand the partner/vendor contracts.

. Implement the module in Sandbox and coordinate UAT.

. Create new roles, new reports for efficient management in NetSuite

ERP.

. Provide training to product heads and finance team members.

SFDC - NetSuite integration

Application: NetSuite, salesforcedotcom

Satmetrix Sales team migrated from NetSuite CRM to salesforcedotcom. This

has resulted in need for integrating both the systems to avoid manual

transfer of opportunities closed from SFDC to NetSuite, so that Sales Order

can be generated in NetSuite and finance team can work on revenue

recognition and invoicing.

Role: Business Applications Lead

Responsibilities

. Lead the project, identify a third party vendor who is specialized in

SFDC-NetSuite integration.

. Coordinate with Sales team and revenue team so that requirement of

both the teams are met.

. Gather business requirement from Sales team and Revenue team and

finalize the business requirement document.

. Finalize with sales team/Revenue team on the data to be displayed in

SFDC/NetSuite.

. Configure NetSuite and make sure that the product and customer data is

in synchronization with SFDC.

. Manage UAT

Revenue Recognition

ERP: NetSuite

Outline: Satmetrix has been historically doing the revenue recognition by

creating revenue recognition schedules through invoices. The revenue team

requires the revenue recognition using Sales Orders so the revenue can be

recognized in advance. This was done using revenue commitments and reverse

revenue commitments from Return Authorization.

Role: Business Applications Lead

Responsibilities:

. Understand the current process of revenue recognition.

. Propose the new process to the CFO

. Do thorough testing of new process in Sandbox.

. Provide training to the revenue management team.

Revenue Recognition using EITF 08-01

ERP: NetSuite

Outline: Satmetrix has decided to comply with EITF 08-01 rule for its

revenue recognition. This rule requires companies selling products and

services with multiple elements to report both recurring and non-recurring

revenue items based on estimated selling prices.

Role: Business Applications Lead

Responsibilities:

. Work with revenue manger and NetSuite to implement this project.

. Finalize the BRD on revenue recognition using EITF 08-01

. Identify and set the dimensions required for selecting ESP

Amortization

Accountants at Satmetrix were entering manual JEs every month to account

for prepaid expenses. As part of the automation initiative, training was

given to the accountants on how to create amortization template and

generate automated JEs as per amortization schedule

Reconcile Bank Statement

Satmetrix accountants used to reconcile bank statement manually. Training

was provided to accountants at Satmetrix to import the QIF file to NetSuite

and then automatically match the NetSuite transaction with Bank statement.

Pentaho BI Environment

Domain: Business Intelligence

Outline: The project was to develop a BI environment for the Business

Application team to create adhoc reports and analysis reports using open

source environment.

Role: Business Applications Lead

Responsibilities:

. Responsible for finding the open source alternative for the BI

environment

. Install and maintain BI server

Domain: Media & Entertainment

Client: Cordiant Technologies, Cochin

Outline: A user-generated consumer internet application for the cricketing

fraternity. The application enables users to score cricket matches,

schedule cricket tournaments and make it available on the internet. The

application also provide social networking features customized for cricket

community where in users can upload the scores, photos of the match and

share them with others.

Role: Business Analyst for the Product

Responsibilities:

. Responsible for generating high level Requirements for the application

and created Vision and Scope document.

. Involved in creating Product Road Map and helped in prioritizing

features for each release.

. Involved in creating detailed functional specification documents and

UI prototypes for corresponding product features.

a centralized Tobacco Licensing Information Repository provides

comprehensive information on the licenses of manufacturers,

wholesalers/distributors and retailers in the 50 States of America and the

District of Columbia.
