Title of the

Project ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF TOPOLOGICAL STRUCTURE FOR

DC SOLID STATE CIRCUIT BREAKER

Project Aim of this project is to use a DC solid state circuit breaker (soft switching)

Description without using mechanical circuit breaker (hard switching) in DC systems. Mechanical

circuit breakers cannot satisfy the requirements of fast operation in power systems due

to noise, electric arc and long switching response time. The proposed system makes full

use of soft switching and current limiting for protection of over load. The proposed

system can be applied in the grid connected and non grid connected DC transmission

and distribution systems.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Participated and won prizes in Tamil and English Oratorical competition during school days.

• Presented a paper on “Mobile Communication” in Saraswathi Velu College of Engineering, Vellore.

• Won 1st prize in “Stand up Comedy” and 2nd prize in “Skit-Based on Patriotism”, in Youth festival

conducted by Lions Club, Vellore.

• Won 1st prize in “EK minute” and 2 nd prize in “MonoAct”, in “Literary and Cultural club” conducted

by Adhiparasakthi College of Engineering, Kalavai.

• Participated in “MIME” in Pokkisham-11, conducted by Thanthai Hans Rover College of Arts and

Science, Trichy.

• One of the Organizers in college symposium.

• Screened a movie on the topic “The Power of Power” for college symposium.

• Participated in “Students Talent Competition” conducted by Radio Mirchi.

• Serviced a village for one week as a part of NSS Camp.

TRAININGS UNDERTAKEN

• Attended two weeks training in “Focus Tech Media”, Chennai, on December 2010.

• Attended a one day workshop on “Green Energy” conducted as a part of INTERFACE T12, a National level
